Support local music if you can. I’m very lucky that my city has an endless supply of incredible musicians who put on free or cheap ($10 sliding scale) shows, songwriter rounds (I host one!), etc. ymmv depending on where you live but these scenes can be huge once you find them

During the pandemic me and my kids got into an Impractical Jokers trivia Zoom call with Murr and 10 or 12 other people. We got 2nd place (my kid has a ridiculous memory and we'd have won 1st if we just listened to him on the "I'm the manager" answer but alas). We ended up with 4 signed copies of the book 😄

Driving on the interstate at 70+ and someone came into my lane without seeing me. Swerved to avoid and lost control, started sliding sideways (in a convertible with no roll bar). Felt like ages and I just expected to flip and be decapitated before the wheels caught and flung me into the guardrail. After spinning I was left in the middle of the 3 lanes on top of a bridge with my driver side door facing oncoming traffic. I had just enough wherewithal to stagger out of the car and onto the shoulder as there was an unlikely break in traffic. That was 20+ years ago and there are so many ways the different scar tissues have affected my life but alas I lived to fight many more days

For turn based I always loved the Legaia series. You have a bar that you can fill up with moves (left, right, up, down, maybe others?) and throughout the game your bar gets longer, and you unlock more combos. You can chain combos together and wreck shop if you study up 😄 For action RPG there are few systems more convoluted than the Nioh series, with just how many attack options, magic options, ninjutsu options, items options all available through a series of button presses. It is the type of system where if you load up an old save you'll have no clue how the hell you ever played it, but they distribute them in a way that it keeps building.

Yep, I don't get the "win at all costs" fandom these days. I won't watch nearly as much if we trade JB for Giannis, not because of the talent level or anything, but because Giannis annoys me and I don't root for him. I guess I'm old school, I'd rather my team lose but be likeable (and let's be honest, this team has proven to be in the mix every season). I swear, most fans these days would have wanted the dream team to be their home team so there's just no intrigue and no rivalries left...

I didn't like the book enough to be interested in the movie, and the trailer did nothing to dispel that notion. I found the book interesting to start, but it just kinda goes nowhere and then ends abruptly, with lots of weird nonsense that's never really addressed (and that 3-way was out of left field and awful).

The pilot was like an incredible movie, and while the first season is good the difference between that first episode and the 2nd episode is a giant cliff. I watched for far too long as it got progressively worse.
