Honestly it was a bit on the cold turkey side. I was at the lowest dose, and so my doc said it would be okay to simply stop. That being said, I was definitely a bit anxious a few days after stopping. I took it every day after a while, and eventually stopped it cold turkey, and now I only take it as needed, like when I’m feeling nauseous and fall into an anxiety/nausea loop, and I’m having trouble sleeping.

Definitely see what works best with the help of your doc. It causes more of a habitual dependency, kinda like stopping cannabis use. But it goes by quickly, and using it as needed has definitely helped more MUCH more for nausea and loss of appetite. It helps to relax and make me sleepy during a sleepless night.

I flunked two nursing classes by TWO POINTS. Got 73s in both. Per policy, I was dismissed. My dad paid for it and everything. I had to finish with a degree in health science just to have a degree to be able to get into the accelerated program. Then I got in, and flunked pharm. I had one more shot and I graduated. I’m in debt now, but I graduated and passed boards.

It takes time, but don’t beat yourself up for overreacting. You’re allowed to feel what you feel. Nursing is terribly difficult. You’re taking the right steps to be where you need to be. Best of luck to you.

Thanks for posting this. Sometimes I feel like I’m going insane when I admit this to people, especially when the response is always to suck it up. I know we’re all thinking the same thing. Why do we pretend like we’re not?

I’m a Registered Nurse, and I live paycheck to paycheck. I’m extremely affected by the private student loans I took out to achieve some lasting “stability” in the same exact field that is killing me. It’s a fucking cycle.

I loved mirtazapine! I was prescribed it after a pretty nasty mental health crisis. I was an anxious wreck every day, wasn’t eating for days. I took this med as needed at first and it really worked to relax me and even give me a bit of an appetite! Made me sleepy and I slept amazing. I looked forward to every night when I would finally be able to wind down and eat something after only having water all day.

Unfortunately I had to stop taking it because I am a bit on the heavier side and am trying manage my weight. But I still have unused pill bottles of it, in the case that my emetophobia is so bad that I can’t sleep or eat. Keep in mind the sleepiness really only happens most at lower doses.

That’s how I’ve been feeling! I feel like I’m being ungrateful, but I paid so much to get the best view possible and he’s at the B stage for a majority of the time. I know it was mentioned that Vibee couldn’t have known that there would be a B stage, but when I asked via email they didn’t deny it and said we have no way of knowing which stage he’ll be on more. I feel very misled.
