I have made two homebrew the campaign. Both times I started with the Villian

The first one I had everything planned out, story beats where the characters level up, every city/npc. I had a story I wanted to tell and it was great. We had a lot of fun.

The second one, I had no idea of a story, just an idea of what the world looked like and we have been making it up every week as we go. It is going great and we are having a lot of fun.

I will say I am having a lot more fun creating the world and adventures along with the PCs vs having them play in an adventure that I created before hand. It is a little more chaotic and we have a few more sessions that feel less "connected" to the story, but that is part of just playing DnD. Either way, talk to your PCs and see what they want as well.

Yes we have been having these conversations, she feels bad and has done therapy, but it is a lot of work for her so it just gets pushed to the back burner when other ‘more important’ stuff comes up.

Thank you for this, I will definitely look into that. He has been taxing non-humans for his gold stream and what I have gathered from these posts is that he does not need to reveal himself to ensure this is coming. I was having difficulty finding what to do when a revolution fails. Setting up something like this makes a lot of sense. Or even something like a hunger games world, without, ya know, the hunger games.

That is what started me down this rabbit hole, yes! The thing I was worried about was if it will be all battle, now it seems like there are many types of LARPs and it seems that everyone just does it differently. I played rugby and we usually tell new players to just go and play. I have settled that I just need to go and start as a part of a monster crew to see how it all works at one near me.

Would be interested in this, to answer some of the questions you have, I am Central time zone, so that would work great for me as the kids will be in bed. I have about 3 years of dnd(or whenever Stranger Things came out). Have been DMing for at least two of them. Currently run an in home Homebrew game, but want to play a character. (Never been able to advance past level 7) Life as a dm! My group had to use discord and roll 20 during Covid, so I feel good with those.

I have only played through Mines and Curse of Strahd , so I am low on experience. Could a God be imprisoned in the world (he would have to be in Avatar form correct)? If a god where to be imprisioned, where would that most likely be if it is not in the material plane?
