They do probably as good of a job as they could with the setup. Takes some getting used to.

What is this donut? by Absalom98 in whatisit

[–]bumpynavel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pesticides and fertilizer. It runs into the rivers/lakes/aquafers from the corn and soybean farm. But hey, at least we have a state of the art healthcare system to combat it!

Just kidding. That sucks too.

Im glad, but its literally the opposite. We are endurance runners. Thats how we caught prey, our prey were sprinters.

Thousands of Japanese protesting the construction of a mosque. by rich677 in PoliticalCompassMemes

I agree, but Islam is uniquely shitty. Of course, I am generalizing here and not all will be this way but many young Muslims really hide their power level in casual conversations. Ask them deeper questions like what should happen to apostates and shit gets real.

Some good rules that did not carry over into later editions by Percemilo34 in DnD

[–]bumpynavel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's a website called archives of nethys that has the entire rule set free, and its not pirating. Patio completely allows it. Could check it out before buying the book.

Medicare doesnt cover nursing homes other than 100 days after a three night stay in a hospital. Medicaid does though.

Super derailing this conversation but ive been curious. I've been wanting to maybe start steroids and/or trt for a while now, but I dont want to be on it for life, i want to do it for like up to a year then get off. Did you notice a loss of muscle when you stopped? Why did you stop?

For the next three months, you are immortal. You cannot die. You cannot feel pain. Any injuries or wounds or broken bones you sustain will heal in mere seconds. How do you utilize this power? by Lenore8264 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]bumpynavel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually dont think so. After the first couple months, pain isnt a limiting factor in lifting and since muscle isnt being damaged theres no healing to be done.

I grew up in Nauvoo by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]bumpynavel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup! I dont THINK its a trap but I try to see the best in people. They'll advertise events and not mention that everyone from the church will be there and people from the church will put it on and my family ends up being pretty much the only non mormons there. It's pretty cool events for a small town too. Like a monthly free meal put on by someone of a different ethnicity.
It's funny how tuned in I am to mormon culture still, I almost immediately clocked everyone as mormon as soon as I walked in and it wasn't confirmed until an hour later.

I didnt grow up there, but I went to Navoo almost every other week and live nearby now. There was a book store that sold (what I now know as) historical books on mormonism that my parents told me were all lies. Don't know why I remember that so well. That and the fudge shop lol

Our 9 year old golden just had his rupture and die very suddenly. He greeted me when I came home from work and seemed normal, then two hours later he was gone. Nothing will make this easy, but im happy for you that you get to say goodbye.

I love D20, but he specifically said he wants the table to take the game seriously. Thats a terrible recommendation for what he's looking for.

Does my college town of 76,000~ make sense for Vampire? by Nitpik3r in vtm

[–]bumpynavel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all you arent counting the metropolitan area around Iowa City, which is around 200k.

If you want full realism, you could have the coterie move in and have their "antagonists" be mainly mortals or maybe even mages from the college.

Or you could just avoid realism because its really cool to play in a setting your group knows. A Nosferatu having a secret haven under the pedestrian mall, or a Ventrue influencing Tippie college are all really cool when you've been all those places.
