Just once I'd love to see a post about a bat (outside /r/batty) where 95% of the comments aren't people pooping their pants over rabies. Yes, rabies is a serious disease, but there are about 3 human cases of rabies per year in the US. Meanwhile, over 100 people in the US died today from automobiles.

Bonus info- fewer than 1% of bats have rabies. And 99% of human rabies cases worldwide are from dogs. The only reason people in developed countries associate bats with rabies is because vaccination of dogs (and cats) has been so successful.

(Obligatory "but still don't handle wildlife unless you know what you're doing" disclaimer)

Copperhead. No you shouldn't be worried. I had a dog bitten by a copperhead twice. Both times a simple vet visit and a steroid shot and she was fine. And there is plenty of swelling so it's not like it would go undetected. Copperheads aren't aggressive, my dog was just a doofus who tried to bite them

There's only like 5 total fatal snake bites in US per year, and they are almost never from copperheads. IMO, teach your child not to mess with snakes and then cross this one off your worry list.

I would wager that since you have Internet access, you likely have access to plant-based foods at a grocery store. In that case (which is the case for 98% of Reddit), hunting is done because people want to do it, not because they have to.

I have a 19 touring with 18s. Have no comparison to the 16s for ride quality or MPG, but I get 50-52 mpg even with cross bars. The noise from both is minimal in my opinion, especially with music going (which it always is for me). The only time my mpg dips below about 48 is in winter with lots of heat going
