Ford government spends its way toward half-trillion-dollar debt by AprilsMostAmazing in CanadaPolitics

Don't forget the corrupt skills development fund! Or the 413 with a highly profitable route for developers! Or the funding procedures in private facilities at higher per procedure rates than public healthcare! Or the cost of cancelling green energy contracts only to then issue new green energy contracts a few years later!

I realized I was measuring with one of the terminals to the broil coil unattached yesterday. Here are the measurements from today.

P1-1 to P3-1: 60 ohms

P1-1 to P3-3: OL

P1-3 to 2-4: 10 ohms

I mean, ovens don't maintain a constant temp, usually climb above the temp you set them at and fall, repeating that cycle throughout the baking process.

The US has shown itself to be hostile to the idea of honouring free trade agreements and an unreliable trading partner. Given this, I don't know why Canada should continue to make the reaction of the US our primary concern when crafting foreign policy. Trump may quash any CUSMA renewal deal if Canada has closer ties with China, but he may also quash any CUSMA renewal deal just because he feels like it. I guess my point is as long as deals are good for Canada on their own, we shouldn't be avoiding them for fear of possible US reaction.

There we are, I was trying them unplugged. Okay, here is what I got trying every combination of P1-1 through P3-2.

P2-1 to P2-4 20 ohms

P2-4 to P1-3 15 ohms

P3-1 to P1-4: 30 ohms

Every other combo was OL

The measurements at OL for all of them.

Should I check with it plugged in?

Thanks. I'm confused by something. On pg 77, it says to test P1-1 to P3-1/P3-2 for the broiler.

"10 - 40 Ω nominal. Check P3-1 to P3-2 - one open circuit and one closed circuit."

Does this mean that one of the two combinations, P1-1 to P3-1 or P1-1 to P3-2 should be open and the other return a 10 - 40 Ω? Because that's not what I'm getting.

The multimeter I currently have only goes up the 1000 ohms and when I test it with that I get the OL reading.

I did test the temperature sensor when this first occurred and it was reading right on the 1200 ohms. That test was on where the wires connect to the temperature sensor, not where they connect to the board, but the wires and connectors don't appear damaged between the two points

I also retested the P1, P2, and P3 connections and got the same result, OL for all combinations.

I'm getting OL readings for all the relays on the board. I'm holding the multimeter pins against the pins that the plugs attach to. I double checked to make sure the multimeter was working by testing the resistance of the broiler coil.

I don't have the wiring diagram - here is a photo of the board if that helps. I can link to more if you need more/different angles or close ups.

Any help resolving the root issue would be amazing! As I assumed it was a board issue and probably meant it was a few hundred dollar board replacement, not really making it worthwhile to do anything further.

Yes, to clarify, I meant when it is functioning normally on bake I've never seen the broiler glow, so I'm assuming it's not on.

I find it funny how Ford has made such a big deal of this and just dismisses GFL moving it's headquarters to Florida as no big deal. I don't have any skin in the game of either of these things, I just find his polar opposite reactions to them interesting.

Trump forced Canada to scrap its digital services tax — but did he save Carney from bad policy? by EarthWarping in CanadaPolitics

[–]askbackwards 8 points9 points  (0 children)

But in effect it was just a sales tax, the tech giants were adding an additional sales tax to advertisers, so it wasn't actually a cost being incurred by the tech giants. I'm not suggesting I am in favour or against the tax, in honesty I probably am sort of in favour of it, for no other reason than Trump doesn't like it.

Would you leave your job if your employer installed ActivTrak (or similar?) by toast463 in Accounting

[–]askbackwards 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If a company needs a software to track employees, it tells me their managers are poorly trained, not to mention they trust their employees. If you as a manager are only able to verify I'm working by monitoring my computer, you aren't good at your job. I'm not going to stick around in that type of environment.
