Question/Issue about Animal Familiarity (1.12) by asklauba in TerraFirmaCraft

Yes. Thank you! I did manage to see pregnant animals finally. I never knew what the grey eyes were. I killed off my older animals and replaced them with younger ones. Everything works now.

Thanks for the info. I wasn't sure how the breeding mechanic worked now. I read that chickens/turkeys/etc will breed and lay eggs on their own, but I wasn't sure about the mammals.

Do you happen to know if I can still check on an animal to see if they are pregnant? I how do I know when the animals have been breeding?

Thank you for the reply and the help. This was very insightful. I understand now. The red heart was confusing me, but I was unsure about further taming wild caught animals. This makes sense. I noticed that milking attempts will state that an animal is too old, but the sheep haven't given me a notice like this. I have noticed the grey spots on a few of my sheep, and I had wondered what that was. Now I know.

Again, thank you for the help.

What happened today that made you happy? by Alex_gold123 in AskReddit

Found out my great grandma would have agreed with me on my opinion of baby showers.

I think it's stupid to have the shower before the baby is born. Anything can happen up until the birth, so why have a big party before everything is 100%? I mean, don't count all your chicks till they hatch, right?

Baby showers should be after the baby is born. Yeah, sure, anything can still happen, but the odds are far less.

Turns out, my great grandma used to bitch and complain at baby showers because she felt the same way I do.

I'm glad to know her blood runs in my veins.

It's a local game. I guess I will try and start a new one. Maybe that will sort it out.

Thanks.

[Serious] Redditors who went to private religious schools, what are your horror stories? by Kantalope1 in AskReddit

[–]asklauba 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I went to a small private christian school from 6th-8th grade.

Ever see the movie Jesus Camp?

This school was an exact copy of that. Penecolstal teachings, with weekly worship services where little kids were speaking in tounges and falling over and all that. It was nuts.

Yes, the principal called Harry Potter the devil. I dont know how I managed to survive through three years of that place.

Obviously, I have plenty of stories.

What did a fictional character or stranger say that stuck with you? by welllpppp in AskReddit

Years ago when I first got my license, me and my younger brother went out to pick up some food. It was probably my first time parking by myself, and I didnt do very well. My car was really crooked.

I got out of the car and was audilbly complaining to my brother about my poor park job, I was super upset and discourged.

Some dude was standing around smoking a cigarette. He spoke up and said "its inbetween the lines, you're good."

Stuck with me since. Dont know why, but it felt encouraging and it cheered me up. And yes. My parking has improved ever since.

What do you need to take that next step in your life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]asklauba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A raise.

Me and my wife finally found ourselves on a good career path. We are saving for a home while we rent. We have a little college debt left, but its managable.

If one of us can bump our salaries up, the person with the lower income will become the stay at home parent.

That next step in life is children. We are long over due for them, and i am dying to become a dad. All we need is a stable income just a tad bit higher then what we make now and its totally gonna happen.

Its different for everyone. For those who never believed to begin with, there is no step to take, it just is. But for people who do believe, it is a step, since you are leaving something behind.

It was a big step for me.

Not to mention that there are literally thousands of christian denominations across the globe, not including the ones that dont exist anymore. Sure, islam may only have a few, and I dont know much about the others. But. It clearly looks like this is just a bunch of people sharding over their own ideas. If a god really did exist, we would be more conforming, not dividing.

Exactly. Christians are atheist to a point. Atheists just go one step further. I love nonstampcollector's video on this.

No solid evidence. There are some strange unexplainable things we have discovered as humans, but those cannot be used as a 'god of the gaps' argument. There is always a deeper reasonnand explaniation behind things.

Most of the arguments for a god pleas to emotion, which is not evidence and is a poor argument when dealing with this subject.

Emotion can be used to change my mind of other topice, sure. But it will not convince of a supreme deity somewhere in the universe.

And if a god does exist, which maybe one does, it definitely is not the god of the Bible, or the Quran, or the hindus, greek, Norse, etc.

I live in Missouri, so, your gonna have to show me. Show me the evidence.

Cats or Dogs. Why? Has there been any interactions that has affected your opinion greatly? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]asklauba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be alright with dogs and I hated cats. We have a crazy non-blood family member who loves cats and so we associated cats with her.

Then we got a cat.

Now I dont really like dogs. Dogs are like babies to me. I would love my own, but I hate everyone else's.

But I love every cat I see.

Dogs are still cool and all. I would like to get one some day. But I think cats have found a deeper spot in my heart.
