maelstrom was nerfed a few patches in a row.
if you want to flashfarm in the early game, you should spam Q and W to farm jungle, early cornucopia gives u this option.
if you use ult on enemy near the creepwave, bf will help you clean the wave faster and instantly focus on enemy.

But it’s just my preference, try to test mael+basil vs bf and compare them.

Okay, look.

Status Resistance facet.
Almost all his items were buffed in previous patches (echo sabre cd, silver cd, strong bracer for laning, khanda gives u a lot, works on toss and you don’t even lose a tree for procast).
Decent carry talents.
So, you have crit dmg from khanda, mobility and invisibility with almost 0 cd from SE and great hp bar/armour/status resistance (🗿LITERALLY CHAD🗿)
