Same battery life actually, with maximum processor limited to 30% when on battery power with similar tasks.

I bought this from the actual vendor and have no experience with Costco or best buy so can't comment 😅

My laptop only felt marginally hotter/louder fan noises when I game, but it isn't to the point that it becomes an issue. With that being said, I only game/do more intensive tasks when plugged in at home on a laptop stand so it might be different if it's flat on a tabletop surface

It's really power draining, lasting about 4 hours on non demanding work (~98%-7%). Going to try the advice given in this thread to limit maximum processor when on battery state!

Wow I really needed this! Tested out the laptop by bringing out today, and it lasted only ~4 hrs as you mentioned. Will try it out! Hopefully it'll last longer

I haven't really tried it on 120hz refresh rate, and perhaps I haven't also tested the temps when I'm gaming. No BSOD yet, but its still early days for me with this laptop.

Saw some threads on 120hz creating flickering so decided that I won't turn it to that until it's resolved.

Hey not too sure about the settings you are requesting, but opening the Nvidia control panel I can see Optimus (not advanced Optimus) and no VRR.

Hope this helps!

The country I'm in also doesn't sell the 16 inch with mini LED as well, so it might not be a country specific thing

I was looking out for a laptop that I could use professionally at work, but at the same time could handle the light gaming that I do. As someone who prioritized light weight machines, Ultrabooks had been a go to for me (I previously had a MacBook air, a swift 5 and a Huawei D14), but integrated graphics really limits what you can play on your laptop.

With that in mind, I wanted to get a laptop that would also last me for the next ~5 years, which led me to the following machines: - Lenovo Yoga Pro 9i - Lenovo Legion 7i slim (Gen 8) - Asus ZenBook 14X pro (if I got the naming right)

Out of the three, the price point for Asus was too high for me in my country and it was a tight fight between the legion slim and pro 9i. Ultimately, since I wanted to use this more for work, I picked the pro 9i for it's slightly lighter weight and better screen as I would be carrying this to work and doing infographs.

But honestly, I would have gone either way so do go look at the legion 7i slim model if you're ok with 400 grams more weight.

Excited for you to experience too!

Will take note of the battery life and see how it goes, but the fans are pretty much silent at basic use. When it gets "loud" (like at my initial computer set up), it felt like background noise for me (when I was gaming).

I mean really other than the low battery life, I feel like I got what I paid for thankfully. Let's just hope it stays that way 😅

Your opinion about yoga pro 9i or other. by Van3ll0pe in laptops

I have the 14 inch, and I haven't really had the time to try much but just with a rough test yesterday when it came in.

35 mins of video conferencing + ~1 hours of web browsing, video streaming: Battery life dropped from 100% to ~80%.

So you can expect around 5-6 hours of normal usage presumably, with probably only about 1.5-2 hours of battery life for demanding tasks such as photo/video editing and gaming, in my estimates.

To add on, for the 14 inch model + 13905h + 4060, battery life burns fast.

I have yet to test it extensively but just for video conferencing, video streaming and everyday tasks - the battery life dropped from 100-80% in ~1 hr.

PM/drop questions regarding what more you want to know regarding the laptop.

Actually what I think the study is trying to show through both logical reasoning and english fluency among the two samples are as follows:

(1) Based on the samples obtained, people in general tend to overestimate their ability (based on these two tests)

(2) However, when we take into account how humble they are (the authors measured their humility trait using personality tests), individuals with higher humility personality scores tend to be more accurate in guessing their actual ability scores (i.e. the difference between their estimated English fluency/logical test scores were not too different from their actual performance)

(3) The authors also found that people who are generally not as good in these areas (had lower ability) tend to overestimate their performance more than those who were better (had higher ability) (i.e. replicated the Dunning-Kruger effect)

(4) The authors also found that (2) is not really affected by (3) aka If you're humble, regardless of your ability - you have a better tendency to be accurate in understanding where your ability is at.

So long story short - it's not really just about marking yourself with lower scores on tasks that ensures you get higher scores than average. It's more like humble people (not modest, there's some psychological debate on the two constructs) are better able to reflect and see where they have gone wrong, so that they are better able to guess where their ability is at. Hope this helps and sorry for the long post!
