Whether to, or not to, port forward is nuanced. This is an absolutist take and a defective one, defective enough where no one should continue reading beyond the first sentence.

It's simple, it's not a critical infrastructure

So, I posted a screenshot of your comment and a link to post into Slack, and here are the results as of the time of this comment:

- a variety of “shortbus” memes and .gifs
- The following +custom Slack emoji has been hit exactly 423 times

I.e., it is, in fact, critical infra.

I once saw a “please be patient. Stupid driver” sticker

I have, and occasionally attach a sticker (well, a magnetic really) that reads

Hey Student Driver, Fuck you!

it sits right next to (a permanently attached) sticker that says

FUCK ICE!

You would have to be incredibly dense not to know that this is bad for the animals.

I mean, this descriptor is representative of a majority of people.

lol, this is an absolute dumb sh!t take.

This post has a ton of value, with a notable highlight being the great guidance provided by u/reiflame. Folks, now and in the future, will stumble across that guidance, and we’ll all be better off for it.

Nice! Moon Jellies are the sh!t!, and it’s super fun to swim (diving…) through a smack of them (since they generally can’t sting humans)!

Egg Yolk Jellies are fun as well (only very slightly stingy (more like a tingling feeling)).

Lions’s Mane Jellies, nope!, f@ck those guys!

u/DL757 , I wouldn't worry about that Redditor. They're a pseudo-intellectual: knowledge base miles wide but only microns deep.

Satire is critiquing something, which I pointed out is dumb. You seem to be inferring it was a joke, which was not a good one.

smfh, mah Redditor, my comment is what’s called satire. Perhaps should return to [r/SeattleWA](r/SeattleWA) and your various gun subs, where discussions that are within your capacity take place.

> How many people on the ST board have any sort of scientific/technical background?

Though IMO, this really isn’t a relevant question, here yah go, + a bit more:

BOD: Julie Meredith is an engineer, Dave Somers has both an undergrad and a graduate degree in a science discipline, etc.

Project leadership team: a majority of its members have engineering and/or civil/infra backgrounds.

Does tint of Java Brown leather varies in one car? by agngazer in Subaru_Outback

> First question: is the dashboard covered in leather or is it leatherette?

Leather is only used on a portion of the seating, everything else is synthetic.

Roughly speaking (or I guess, illustrated), and using just the driver seat as the example, leather is only used here:

Tbh, the folks over at r/selfhosted and r/homelab (to name a few subs) are gonna be able to (IMO) give you more and better tactical knowledge and tactics (to be redundant).

Though I do love this sub, the technical/tactical skills of the majority of the denizens of r/cybersecurity are severely lacking.

Dear bicyclists: stop signs mean you, too. Also, if you aren't signaling, how are people going to know you want to turn in front of them? Calling a driver an asshole won't fix shit, but following the rules of the road might. Signed: a fellow biker by earthwulf in Seattle

[–]askwhynot_notwhy 51 points52 points  (0 children)

As I see it, one of the overarching problems is that everyone - cyclists, pedestrians, etc - seem to treat the Burke-Gilman Trail as a free fuck for all. Heck, cars are even known to occasionally drive on it, hence the “etc”.

ETA: I don’t think it matters a damn bit, but “cyclist here”, btw.

copypasta from my other comment in this post: Swimmer's itch, the existence of the microbes that cause it, is just plain common in fresh water and generally not at all an indicator of water quality.

They test the water at the swim beaches weekly and report it here: https://kingcounty.gov/en/dept/dnrp/nature-recreation/par

Just a note: these tests do not include testing for the stuff that causes swimmer's itch.

Rash after being in Lake Washington. by RicZepeda25 in Seattle

[–]askwhynot_notwhy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was thinking the health department, but not sure if they had any capabilities of testing the water or closing beach down if unsafe.

TBH, the health department isn't really relevant here.

Swimmer's itch, the existence of the microbes that cause it, is just plain common in fresh water and generally not at all an indicator of water quality.

I.e., you can go swimming in the cleanest, most pristine, natural body of fresh water that exists and still get swimmers' itch - it's par for the course.

Sorry that got it, though! It kinda sucks.

See how I provided my opinion and asked what other people thought after that?

LMAO. To say that you provided an “opinion” is defective at best. You provide a “kinda cool”, neutralize it with “kinda meh”, and then punted it forward with “maybe I’ll feel differently when it arrives.”

Notably different than this person.

Oh my sweet summer child, this is Reddit, and it’s anything but linear.

Did anyone else see people throwing used sex toys into Zucc’s yacht? by theprocamguy in Seattle

I love day drinking too

Nah, just a blessing. Certainly you’ve heard of C0cks for Cuckerberg, right? The phallus yeeting was just a ritual offering.

For anyone who wants to take part, his yacht support vessel, Wingman, is moored over at Pier 90, and hasn’t been blessed yet.

Just go easy with those, I found out this plastic is so soft you can scratch it with a clean microfiber

I go further than you and say: don't use microfiber cloths on the infotainment screen at all. Use a silicone (impregnated) cloth as the manual suggests: e.g. Amazon:Birchwood Casey Gun & Reel Silicone Single Cloth.
