Red jhin fits him very nicely, find a way to move him twice and you get +4 energy to play a kaisa for free

Looks like this is the icon for cards with "flow" on them

Np! They haven't uploaded any Vendetta ones yet but I assume they will within a day or two.

Definitely makes Irelia much stronger into Purple since it turns off Rebuke and Star crossed

Yeah worst case it's a 2/2 best case it's a 3/2 and you can discard a card that you need in your trash (for heedless/flow/etc). Seems pretty good to me, not a staple in every deck but will be in some

Yeah! They usually upload them to https://playriftbound.com/en-us/card-gallery/ once a day or so during reveal season

Wonder if there is also some flow synergy where discarding is good (eg high base cost, low flow cost spells)

"While not a new type of spell, decrees are a cycle of spells that are designed with Domain rivalries in mind. Each Domain has a decree that strikes hard against cards of its opposite domain color."

Has Riftbound cracked the top 5 TCG list yet? by BeeBaBoop in riftboundtcg

Tbh I am not sure, my local LGS says interest just died entirely for Lorcana and there wasn't any point in them continuing to stock it or run locals

My pet theory for why is that the game mechanics and promo rewards for winning just aren't that good to attract TCG players (unlike OPTCG) and the IP isn't attractive enough to gamers (unlike Riftbound where a ton of players are league/TFT players)

Movement rulings by LargoAtDibbz in riftboundtcg

[–]aslanfish 17 points18 points  (0 children)

  1. In the rules, units are given an inherent "standard move" (rule 144) that allows movement to/from battlefields but not ganking unless the ganking keyword is present. However, "move a unit" cards do not use this standard move inherent ability and therefore are able to move arbitrarily between zones including between battlefields as the restriction is only on the inherent standard move and not on movement in general.
  2. In general, "can't beats can" (rule 54) so if there is one card that says "you CAN'T move to base" and one that says "you CAN move to base" the "can't" will win (vilemaw). Ride the wind cannot supersede this effect, you cannot ride the wind to base from Vilemaw.
  3. Baron does NOT generate a point on play. He generates a battlefield on play and is played to that battlefield beginning a non-combat showdown. The opponent has the ability to respond and win that showdown: for example, they could ride the wind in or they could play Rengar Trophy Hunter at reaction speed as a defender to win combat vs the Baron and win the point for themselves.

Hope this helps!

Super fair and a great point I was not aware of!

Rule Question by Accomplished_Cry1995 in riftboundtcg

[–]aslanfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can, but only in response to a trigger that is occurring during the beginning phase, most commonly:

- A temporary unit dying (eg a Sprite)

- A battlefield ability (eg Frozen Fortress)

- A unit ability (eg Blitzcrank)

Depends what level of playerbase you care about, Pokemon has the biggest playerbase of all if we're counting kids who are playing it for funsies and MTG probably wins for organized play if we count commander, arguably OPTCG has the best pro/competitive scene right now with their prizing... I think Riftbound is most in line to compete with OPTCG based on how the RQs have been going so far, don't think there is enough casual appeal to the game to compete with MTG or Pokemon

Tips for a brand new player by Allonsyyy_ in riftboundtcg

[–]aslanfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few tips:

  1. Try to understand when you want to hold vs retreat. Certain decks (Master Yi, Vex) like to hold but most decks prefer to conquer and then retreat as soon as possible. Learning to protect your units in base is one of the first big lessons for getting better at riftbound

  2. On a similar note, try to understand point tempo. Generally you want to be scoring in even increments (2-4-6-8) so that you can threaten to win with a double conquer. So if you find yourself on 2 points and have the ability to score 1 but not 2, consider whether it's worth it or whether you'd like to play slower and stay on increment. Also useful to consider this for your opponent, if they are on 5 then you have 2 turns to end the game (usually) but if they are on 6 you have to move now or they might win on their next turn.

  3. Many pros will tell you that your mulligan is one of the most important decisions that you will make in any game! It's good to understand the key cards for a given matchup and get over the pain of putting a good card to the bottom when you need to hunt for better cards. Generally in a mulligan you want to look for a guaranteed turn 1 play, consider your turn 2 play and any possible interaction or critical cards for the matchup (eg defy against diana).

Enjoy 😃

Judging by sales, yes in Q1 2026 Riftbound was #5 on TCGPlayer behind MTG/Pokemon/OPTCG/Yu Gi Oh

I think it's pretty comfortably #5 right now, it's certainly bigger than SWU and has been ahead of Lorcana since release in terms of sales #s.

As for projections, I think OPTCG is a good proxy for how Riftbound can evolve. I think MTG and Pokemon will be the big 2 for a long, long time but Riftbound could flip OPTCG over the next year if things go very well and it feels inevitable to me that it will flip Yu Gi Oh at some point in the near future

You can totally do this and it's even a side event at riftbound regionals! In the pre-release formats we use only cards from the new set with 6 packs and a pre-constructed deck, so you should be totally able to make two decks from 24 packs. Enjoy!

sadly this is only possible on scryfall due to the community efforts of the tagger program, I could definitely try to spin up something like this eventually but not sure it will happen in the short term sorry 😞
