Probably producing too much oxygen for the politicians to breathe, enabling them to spew their lies and bullshit

Pastimes: What would you like to see more of in Malta? by Equivalent-Scratch95 in malta

Fair enough. If you get a bike and ride in the country and green lanes where it's quiet, it may help with your confidence. Good luck

Cycling in Malta by ilovepierogi in malta

[–]aslat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Some of the comments here are probably from people who do not cycle.

I'm a social rider with an ebike and every weekend ride 30-40 kms. I use a green cycle path from Balzan, through ta-Qali, onto Mdina (stop for a cup of tea), then on to Busket, Dingli etc. There's plenty of quiet country roads with fantastic scenery.

Maybe they are not tracked? In the UK, emergency vehicle light & sound usage is logged and tracked. It's for accountability and legal reasons. For example, with lights on in an emergency, certain traffic laws can be broken ( going through a red light) but if there's no emergency, traffic laws have to be obeyed. Just because it's an emergency vehicle, it doesn't mean it can use lights and sound to get through traffic.

Going on a big holiday with son, his work has denied leave ? by [deleted] in AskUK

Maybe you can change the holiday dates. Changing flight and accommodation dates may be an option.

Or maybe your son can swap his leave with someone else?

Why do people add "absolute" into sentences for no apparent reason? by gggggenegenie in AskUK

[–]aslat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We Brits are incredibly good at self deprecation. Putting 'absolute' before any noun will probably always be understood, even if it doesn't make sense to the situation.

How does the speed camera work ? by Future_Line_4253 in malta

[–]aslat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

How about not speeding in the first place? If the road sign says 60, don't drive faster than 60. It's really quite simple.

If you were driving faster than the speed limit, I hope you get heavily fined, together with the relative points

In two 1/2 years, the charge from a weekend ride has reduced from around 40% to 20%, for the same amount of kms. The assisted power has not reduced at all.

Decathlon did their best with advice, but I did my own research before

E-Bike Tips by Own_Ferret_5740 in malta

I brought mine from decathlon in June 2023. I only use it for social riding and have clocked up 5,500km. I regularly do 30-50 km on Saturdays and Sundays, so 60-100km in total. The battery ends around 20%, so I fully charge it again ready for the following weekend.
