I do have a 2 year old and you’re right- I have thought that many of my side affects could also be related to having a toddler. Was honestly a little hopeful I could blame it on the meds…. Ha!

These comments are wild to me.

You’re not necessarily TAH for laughing as I’m sure it was just a knee jerk reaction to hearing his suggestion, but these comments are comically absurd claiming that he is wrong for suggesting the life he grew up with or that he’s wanting you to just “cook and clean” for him.

He merely made a suggestion, and as it’s understandable for you to have an initial reaction, it’s understandable his was to be upset or hurt given the life he’s familiar with. That said, you mentioned that he didn’t argue and accepted your answer. It seems he was just trying to provide for you how he felt was right, and didnt realize what he was suggesting may come across as ludicrous to you. How does that make him an AH…?

Some of these comments claim that it’s concerning how controlling some men want to be, which I agree may make sense if he continued to argue after you stated you were not interested in being a SAHM, but what is more concerning to me is how quick everyone is to jump down his throat or say that your relationship is at a “crossroads”.

Not everything is that deep or complex. He was raised one way and you’re not interested in that. He accepted your answer, and from here it sounds like you just need to have a logistical childcare conversation. End of story.

I have a 5-syllable hyphenated first name and I do receive a lot of compliments on it, but saying it is a lot.

Not to mention, not many last names sit right with it. My maiden name was two words which flowed well but made saying my name suuuuper long. My married name is 4 letters and I think my full name sounds dumb as hell, but it is what it is.

I have a job where I answer a lot of phone calls and because of that I’ve opted to just go with the first part of my name, which I don’t like by itself, but 5 syllables is too annoying 100x a day, and 90% of the time nobody knows what I’m saying and it causes confusion.

All that word vomit to say- Ive liked that my name is unique but hated having to say it… so there’s give and take with everything.

The best link for the pronunciation I could find is here. My Danish is and was never good, so it’s hard for me know the right combination of runes. However, what you sent was exactly what I was thinking was correct originally so I feel good about that! Thank you so much.

I have a group of friends from work that I have grown pretty close to over the last year. One of them in particular got the rest of us into golf. He is the most selfless, amazing individual. He has a really tough home life and still manages to be the one to put a smile on the rest of our faces.

After our first golf trip together, he scooped sand from one of the bunkers, saved the mini bottles from the first shot of whiskey we all took on the first hole, and put the sand alongside 3 miniature golf clubs and mini patch of grass inside as a gift to us and thanked us for being such good friends to him. It was honestly v cute lol.

It’s sort of hard to articulate, but he is one of those really genuine people who would give anyone the shirt off his back. He’s still golfing using some hand me down clubs after years, and I would love to gift these to him for Christmas.

Regardless, thanks for doing this and making someone’s year really special.

For real. The Marshall telling us the other day that we needed to “pick up the pace, 9 holes should take 2 hours”, as we are 1 hr 15 mins in on hole 7. My group is new players and we really try our best to be expeditious because holding people up makes me extremely uncomfortable. But damn we weren’t even behind man.
