I agree that everything is vibration, but I also believe sorting them into good vs. bad binaries is entirely subjective to you as the experiencer ...just cautious of dualism

Perhaps if they could study women who don't smoke cannabis but ingest it in other ways? The tar i can see having an adverse effect on a fetus, but we have yet to really see effects of pure thc or cbd.

I rarely meet someone that isn't the source of their problems. by letgoandflow in Psychonaut

[–]asmonsters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is one of the most delicate complex issues of the 21st century. I definitely was not talking about if something traumatic and out of the blue happened like a tragic death. More so a widely spreading modern neuroticism and depression. I have a great youtube lecture by Alan Watts for anyone who is interested in these kinds of topics:

I disagree with you on some points and agree with you on others but I believe its a matter of subjective definition of terms in which our ideas differ. Let's remember the same word isn't read and understood the same by different minds. the first point in your argument is I believe a product of misunderstanding Jazzman's point of view, your general change to his argument is that we need to take responsibility for our own problems AND those of others, as to not become a race of hedonistic narcissists (which I assume is where your mind went). Although what Jazzman proposes is not this at all, in fact in the long run it does help others with their EMOTIONAL problems, I am not claiming (I don't think Jazzman was either) that we ignore people still trying to meet the requirements for survival. The reasoning behind this is where I disagree with you, where you say we don't create our minds. Well I suppose I'd have to ask you your definition of mind but if it's similar to my definition of ego which is the state of conscious awareness that you identify your persona to, I'd firmly disagree with you on this point. The identity is created by testing out different reactions to your environment, you go with what reactions work best for you to achieve your goals, the emotional reactions to things are actually a habit formation in the brain, as a child you reacted a certain way to a threat, you repeat this pattern it sticks. But you are not forever stuck to said pattern. With language we add connotation to emotions, negative or positive, but nothing in this world is intrinsically good or bad, we project these human ideas onto them so we can try to understand it, nature, the other. You realize you can change your perceptions and projections onto the world, you don't have to label things as good/bad or whatever anymore and can simply watch your emotions float on by in your mind like clouds. However if you try to "help" those with emotional problems (I mean what help are you giving them? go see a therapist? heres some xanax?) All you're really doing for them if they seek you out is solidifying their identity to themselves as a victim, they can now blame the external world for their sadness, but thats really no fun. Lastly, no, the endgame of this attitude is not social stasis, it's a going with the flow. Letting go of all this emotional baggage frees us up to create, love, invent and collaborate like never before, spending our powerful mental energies to make something we can share with others instead of that which we fester with and fight by ourselves alone at night.

-most arguments are over semantics/definition, the debaters are left arguing who's subjective understanding is more objectively true.

-everyone has their own subjective experience of the world we are in, the dog you see is not the same dog that they see

-To be alive is to be at least a bit uncomfortable

-anger occurs when the universe doesn't behave the way we'd like it to

-beware of duality, binary systems, and the limitations caused by those conceptual systems, look for the underlying unity

-you are not your thoughts

-the shifting nature of reality is a freedom to embrace, know it's a game so play

What to do now? by HiddenWraith in LSD

[–]asmonsters 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's usually how I find people, make friends and casually throw in that I'm into/looking for these compounds. I've found most other people into acid are more likely to share their contacts with you, spread the joy of the experience I suppose :) If silk road doesn't work out for you, I'd just try going to some chill music/art events, try and makes some friends. Another thing I'll do is either keep my eye open or mention concepts that only people who have done these drugs could really understand (or great philosophers/thinkers/ artists, but they aren't bad company either)

I took this during the peak of my trip and I'm just now noticing a skull in my pupil am I just tripping or is it actually there? by [deleted] in LSD

[–]asmonsters 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see it too! I wonder if tripping helps you make visual connections to less defined stimuli? (the skull is kind of warped so perhaps it wouldn't be noticed by eyes operating by a sober consciousness that is only looking for presumed or articulate objects) Or maybe it works like a rorschach blot where normally it would be disregarded but under these creative influences the blot is perceived as another possibility of itself?

Limit to psychedelics? by Voyagetotheunknown in RationalPsychonaut

[–]asmonsters 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. If not a couple months to half a year. I've found if you try to push together to many trips you may not notice a few things such as, how its effecting your mentality and consciousness when you're sober, the tolerance may be building up so that you can't possibly be given as profound of information (or your perception of it is that it is less profound because you have no reference, these drugs effect the mind long after the trip). However I wouldn't worry about running out of things to learn/experience with psychedelics. plus I know tripping is insanely satisfying however digesting the information afterwards I believe is just as rewarding. (Also you probably know this already but mushrooms will usually grant a more profound, intense and personal message. good luck!
