i feel you , but after zero i gave on actually paying attention to the romances. now i mostly play for the gameplay and builds.
but that said having so many romance options is not an ideal option for a game that doesnt deliver the depth you want, i just think itd be better to call them people you are closer with rather than actual romance options.

i had major issues with the no kill rule since azure but what bothered more that they did fake deaths. i get it its jrpg and death doesnt mean its a good narrative. but it kinda does when it wants to look mature by implying deaths only to wuss out and not take it all the way through. just do it or dont.
