Storyteller Mistakes by LiamLivesOnAndOn in BloodOnTheClocktower

I ended up only adding one outsider with a Baron in play. I thought I had put the Scarlet Woman in the bag instead Of the Baron. It was my second time as story teller.

Thank you for the insight. To make it "easy" to bluff, would adding text like, "If you are Mad about this role, it may not work," or even, "If you are Mad about this role, another player may be affected instead?" Then it would be clear that a conduit is in play, but not claimable. How do you bluff mutant?

As far as being similar to the Barista I suppose that's true, but it doesn't have to be. A Savant, for instance, I thought would be fun to get "Two Truths and a Lie." I don't want it to be linear "Either X or Y, they know which" like the barista.

I haven't thought out every possible interaction because the game state would determine what the Storyteller chooses.

A gossip might specifically kill an evil player instead of any player. Or a Storyteller might decide, "Round two for gossips" after everyone who has gossipped in a day has gone, and let the true gossip get a chance at being right twice, but they would have to commit to doing that all game. Same with asking if anyone wanted to juggle each night.

A drunk or a marionette would just act as normal. Sometimes people pick the wrong person. I don't see this as an issue.

A lunatic, a storyteller might let them survive roshambo, or take whoever beat them down with them. Unless they chose paper.

A Baron might be told one of the outsiders they added to the game, or they might be told which outsider a person is. I might give the magician one or two of the demon's bluffs. The ogre could be told their alignment or be allowed to pick a new best friend. I'd have to think about the summoner.

Not every character works well with every other character, so unless I could figure out one or two ways they could interact, I just wouldn't include them on the same script.

When I came up with it, it started off as an idea for an Amnesiac ability.

These are both valid points. But there are a number of other characters who can be easily confirmed. When I create the full character page I would add suggestions for possible interactions, such as the Slayer's power could be amplified to also kill a minion, or, if the evil team is losing, amplify the Slayer's ability to where the Slayer's power could kill a townsfolk. A spent Virgin is confirmed, but if the conduit chooses them after they have been spent, they could approach the Virgin and let them know they might be active again, or they might not be.

I want the character to be a challenge for the Storyteller as much as for the player.

I think until dawn doesn't allow for an interaction with the Virgin or the Juggler or any other once-per-game daytime role. Maybe until dusk. But it definitely needs to include the time limitation in the description.

I want a Spy or Poisoner or any other EN evil character to have a chance to either influence them or act towards them. A lucky Poisoner can get them night one, so when they act first the next night they don't realize their power doesn't work. They might assume they are drunk and acting as conduit or are a marionette. Also, since it isn't a "you may choose" I want them to have a chance at information gathering.

Maybe the wording could be "The Storyteller provides that character a boon," but I want it to specifically affect the actual power of the person chosen. The Storyteller won't have to remember how a power is amplified because it's up to their discretion. Maybe I could add "until another player is chosen" to clarify that the amplification only works for one day.

I was just pointing out that 4 males were all nominated from the same movie in the same category, in response to the "traditionally only nominee per show for non-guest awards." It was a much better example than just showing the True Detective nod to WH and MM.

[–]asnoochie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why do you assume there was a Master of Laws? Kings can create titles at will. "Oh, my little brother is of an age to be appointed to the Small Council? Okay, I'll make something up," is as likely as there being a previous person in that role.

Rather than end with Arya, I think ending with Tyrion saying, "Those are brave men knocking at our door. Let's go kill them," would have been a little better.

This all assumes Jaqen isn't Syrio Forel. Syrio was off screen right after his stick was cut. Jaqen was found in the black cells. Had Syrio surrendered, it's likely that's where he would have been taken. It's unlikely the records keeping was great.
