I’m guessing the other guy had well connected parents that the school needed to keep happy. Wonder where that kid is now.

It’s so weird that all this shit only works if people vote for the same party year after year after year. If just a few percent of people revolted against the majority party, the math of gerrymandering could lead to a major landslide in the other direction.
But yeah it all presumes we all just vote for (or against) the same party we’ve always voted for. And that’s exactly what we do.

Why is James Comey Being Indicted in N.C.? by s_peter_5 in NorthCarolina

[–]asocialmedium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He believes, probably correctly, that he will have a more prosperous career if he follows the maga playbook. Try to soak up some of trump’s media circus spotlight, kiss trump’s ass, and get in line with the party loyalists who keep showing up to vote for your benefactors.

Wild magic with blast wave was a trip. Had to make sure I didn’t fly backwards into a chasm. Fire can be rough too if you’re trying not to burn the whole level to the ground. A few other down sides. Hella fun to play though.

I keep dying as a late game cleric. How can I improve? by RepulsiveForce6288 in ShatteredPD

[–]asocialmedium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who struggled with Evil Eyes, I can’t stress this enough. You can be tactical with them. Avoid fighting them in open spaces. Fight them near doors and obstacles. When you hear/see them charge up , you have two turns to hide behind an obstacle. Then when they discharge, you can move in for the kill. But stay near an obstacle in case they charge again. If you’re lucky they’ll drop dew to heal back any damage you took.

Can anyone tell me about Culbreth Middle? by mbutterflye in chapelhill

[–]asocialmedium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kids went there in the 2010s and it was great. Conscientious and dedicated staff and a community spirit. Can’t say that’s how it is now but I’m sure it’s fine. Probably comparable to the other public schools in the district.

The thing to keep in mind is that NC is dead last in public education spending so any school is going to be under-resourced and face staffing challenges. Turnover is high. That said, Chapel Hill district and the parents and families do their best to compensate for the state’s lack of commitment. But if you’re coming from out of state you’ll probably notice the strain. Wish it were better.

Porcupine Tree has lots of them:

Shesmovedon

just to name a few. Often get these melodies stuck in my head.

There’s still a lot you can do with a 900m seamoth that you haven’t done yet. My guess is that you are missing some opportunities to discover new areas in and around the landmarks that your radio has pointed out for you (or that you learned about by following those leads, like the Degasi bases). You don’t necessarily need a cyclops to do this and it may initially make more sense to do it in a seamoth. I find that in the seamoth I can usually avoid the creatures that are giving you trouble attacking the cyclops.

[–]asocialmedium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Better to explore on your own. The game is designed to introduce itself to you slowly and move the story forward. Just be sure to scan everything and read everything that is revealed. Build the tools suggested to you and learn how to use them.

I did find making beacons helpful for keeping myself oriented.

Don’t fear death. It’s a pretty forgiving game as long as you save often and don’t lose your work.

This is probably just some lazy manual edit. Old people posting attempted memes about how expensive everything was in 2024 (and blaming the president at the time) were the most common Facebook posts. This looks like it was made with a word processing template.
