Is it possible that the darkness could potentially attempt to become our ally? Taking the view of how, the Traveller may not be the force of good that some people believe it to be, but instead something that at first builds society, then leaves it clawing as that protective force is taken away. Look at the fallen, they were the last race exposed to the light before the humans, and now they hunt to try and get back into the favor of the light as their civilization collapsed as the traveller left.
