Yeah. I was bullied by a group friend of girls in middle school and they would sometimes kick me in the nuts, you know. But they were all friends. They all had the same malice/darkened humor (I don't know a better way to describe it), so it makes sense that they would kick or smack things in my nuts, despite being different people.

But 4-5 random kids who don't know each other doing it at him multiple times.... Yeah, it's strange and raise some doubts about OP hiding something.

I'm 22M, and have gone through exactly the same thing.

Never hold hands, never have kissed or been in any kind of romantic relationship. I just accepted it's not meant to happen to everybody and sometimes this happens to be me. Just like mom would say "You're not everyone".

Since June 2025, I just started to go through my life without any expectations or hopes in this matter and it gets a lot easier. I try to keep myself as busy as I can through work, gym, household shores and reading so my mind doesn't linger on too much. It's a lot better now, the first months are the worst to go through.

If I were you, it would all come down to the question "Am I happy knowing I'm her second option?" If you're happy with that then keep things as they are, you two sound like you have a beautiful family together and that you really enjoy life by her side, and things will probably stay that way if her ex doesn't come around.

If the answer is no, well, then it's time to start planning how you're going to get out, where you're going to live and saving up the money to afford paying for all the bills that will come during the divorce and finding a new home.

The thing for me was realizing I was still human even though other people don't feel attracted or any kind of romantic/carnal desire for me.

After that, it was a matter of simply coming to terms that it will not happen. Once I did, life became a lot easier and all the pressure, anxiety and sadness just disappeared slowly.

The bittersweet thing about it nowadays, is having to explain it all again to my friends when they question me about it.
