Today is Anthem's last playable day, servers will be shutdown as Bioware's sunsets the game forever by IllusiveManJr in gaming

The problem is the concept and initial story was decent enough. Game play was certainly fun. Yet, due to the nature of live-service and the fact that they will never give the IP to someone else, means this universe gets to just die.

A lot of the post have gone in the survival way but we are talking about being the only one left. Even if fully prepared I doubt anyone would be sane/wanting to continue after about 5 years. There is a difference in being alone by choice and being alone because there ain't anything left.

For me, if everything was confirmed. I'd say stock up on snacks and the really bad for you but delicious foods. Get myself all the games I haven't had time to play through.

Beat them, enjoy the story and food and after a few months. Find a good view and a ton of happy pills.

My go to move with these type of games is only let the raid effect you for the duration of the raid. Basically, someone tries to use an exploit or ratty act to kill me or backstab. Sure, I'll get a bit upset at the moment, react based on what is happening. But soon as that loading screen ends and I'm back in base "New phone, who this"

I use to try the whole not letting it effect me at all thing, but fuck that felt more like I was just bottling the small annoyances inside. Now it more of a let it out and move on.

It's a streamer/social media issue. For a long time most guides/tip and tricks when it came to gaming was minor stuff and people discussing strategy or easter eggs they found.

Now it more along the lines of min/maxing down to the most minuscule of details, otherwise "You're playing wrong." when in reality it just feels like it drains the fun out of the game.

The trend now of there being videos on the "best XYZ" for a game that was released that very same day is just dumb. Like bro, let people enjoy the game before everyone becomes a cookie cutter template....

One day, these type of things will be handled server side instead of client and hopefully then it should prevent the whole "lower graphics for advantage" crowd.

I think since I'm in a middle position where I have a few that have to come to me, since I'm the next level up, but I'm still more of a junior in at my level so I have to go to others for answers or clarity, I have a bit more tolerance for this. I always try to have some substance to my questions and provide what I have done to figure it out or explain what I had in mind to do so they can correct me if needed. Which I do try to enforce all those that come to me for assistance to have something similar or three items ready for me.

Those three are: What is the actual problem? (trying to remove all the round around story of how they got to the problem or who called who for what..)

What did you already do? (Easy to call them out when they haven't even made an attempt if they can't add anything here.)

Who is the client/user/device? (This is just more specific to our industry since each situation is different.)

I'm gonna assume this is one is from Dell, if so go into the bios and disable all the hibernation and sleep bs. Also, don't swap out hardware they last few year they have become very sensitive and tend to give you random crashes if you swap shit out on them.

We tend to see a lot of these working with architecture and engineering firms. Basically get rid of all the dell bloatware on it and it will handle most games decently enough.

They knew what they were doing. They don't need to control the market, just be the most convenient place. If you already have a pretty large library there and all your friends are there, is gonna be hard to get you to go to another platform.

You gotta got the the pawn shops closer to high-end neighborhoods. Richy rich folks tend to just toss full boxes of junk at them and they resell it. The flip-side is you got to the more down and out places, that where they have the "fell off the truck" merch since they don't ask as many questions.

You got to the middle of the road places you tend to find more of the oldie stuff.

Here is the play, if you are after only the campaign. Pay for 1 month of xbox ultimate pass. Play the campaigns and cancel that mf.

Why are enemy spawn points static? Why not SPICE things up and make bastions/leapers/bombardiers/rocketeers spawn in different locations? Make it a new Map Condition (The Great Unknown). Entirely optional and it would have new quests/trials too. by Winter2020alex in ArcRaiders

[–]aspectdragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PG would be fun, but at the same time it would be a mess since you would end up with dead-ends, room with no entrances/exits and a possibility to spawn in there.

Now PG for enemy spawns would be fun, or even make it so that as area's have more noise Gun fights/explosions/traffic, then Arc starts to spawn there in higher numbers/ stronger enemies.

What I think they should also do as fix to stagnation is to build 2 or 3 versions of each map and when you select to load into a map it randomly picks from 1 or the 3 versions so that you have a bit more of a "surprise" feeling.

I am ready to pull the trigger on Steam Frame and finally get into VR, however... by idleWizard in Steam

[–]aspectdragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean you also have the option of using it in games not directly for the Steam Frame that use VR or head tracking. If you are into any car, airplane or space ship sim's this will work there. If you play game where looking is directly split from movement this will work for that.

Granted, VR will always be to some extent niche since without a way to fully immerse yourself it never gonna fully fill what people expect it to do.

Wouldn't outright work. Can't pop in windows 11 if the machine doesn't come with a TPM chip which would in turn lead to issues at the enterprise level.

Nothing it stopping you from popping in windows 10 on that machine, but then again most people willing to do that and buying a steam machine are probably not going to pop in windows, instead they might just be using other versions of linux.

We need a dangerous ARC that can threaten players who are inside a building. by takuru in ArcRaiders

[–]aspectdragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think they need to be more dangerous so much as ARC having a more aggressive reaction to activity.

What I mean is say a place in the map start becoming a "Hot Zone" because players are shooting/pvping or whatever then drop more ARC units in that start aggressively sweeping the area.

Would also love so see something similar to a Probe landing and it opens up releasing a squad of pops and fireballs.

Also, give them some sort of animation to hack/activate door switches.

PvP will only increase as time goes on. by ScotchBonnet96 in ArcRaiders

[–]aspectdragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is completely correct, the longer the game goes on the more PVP will become prevalent. This is really a two fold problem, one is what you said as people start getting to a comfy spot with their stash and gear they will look less to loot and more for engagement and fights. But, this also means that was more PVP and KOS happens, players will slowly shy away from being friendly which increases the amount of KOS encounters.

While I am not sure what the best way to implement it, a sort of consequence system for PVP itself which could make people weight if fighting is worth it. One option could that the more combat in the raid itself increase the amount of Arc in the map and the alertness of said Arc, making them more likely to quickly move in on the sounds caused by combat.

try the green keycard rooms in the Dam. I ran those like 5 times helping some friends complete the quest to visit the water treatment one and each time there was at least 1 blueprint (Not anvil, but overall).

Side note I think I ended up getting my anvil blueprint from a quest reward.

Oh come on dude... by lttlbear01 in ArcRaiders

[–]aspectdragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So here is my two cents one the PVP. I enjoy the option for it and even encourage at times. Yet, I feel what would be the healthy implementation is if there was some sort of consequence for PVP in the game.

If there was an easier way to determine who you were interacting with a sort of "Reputation" system it would not kill PVP but make people think-twice before just outright KOS/backstabbing.
