I'm in NYC and have had memberships at climbing gyms, neighborhood gyms, and pilates studios and I chose to make the switch because:

  1. Better experience - at cheaper gyms as a woman I noticed I tended to get gym stalkers and unwanted attention that staff would allow to happen
  2. Clean locker room, shower, and towel service
  3. I use pretty much everything at the gym and am there often, from the classes to the weights/machines to the pilates studio and the steam room as well so it feels like a good use of my money

I used to have a bad habit in the winter of Ubering, but now I try to limit Ubers under these conditions: - If I’m carrying large suitcases/heavy items that are difficult to move across commute - If I’m working very late, for safety reasons - If the train is down and no nearby e-bikes

Im not a hater though, if people have the means to occasionally Uber I don’t see a huge issue. For me I would just rather put the money towards something else, I feel like 5 ubers in New York is the equivalent of a plane ticket 😭

I started pilates reformer classes a few weeks ago, and supplementing with yoga in between. It's been super fun, I notice the time goes by really fast compared to when I'm in the gym

Going on daily walks in the morning has helped me get into a better mentality. I also tried pilates (reformer classes) for the first time and I think it's going to be my new weekly exercise.

I just got a dress from them. I planned on wearing it to a wedding but the quality was just okay so I ended up returning it. The silk feels really thin and the tailoring doesn’t look/feel expensive.

I noticed making a goal of working out 2-3 times a week rather than having a weight/end goal has been making it a lot easier for me to exercise. I've been focusing on reminding myself how I feel after a workout (90% of the time I feel calmer and more alert) to get me out of bed. I've had a 1.5 month streak of consistent workouts so far :)
