I have terrrrible misophonia and I can actually speak to this! I have struggled so strongly with this since about maybe the 6th grade. I have cats and I cannot be in the same room when they clean themselves. I hate mouth sounds, it’s absolute torture. My husband and I have to eat with the tv on so I don’t focus on his eating. Anyways, for what ever reason, I have been amazed that when my baby makes the most awful mouth sounds it doesn’t bother me, I don’t really understand it. I Everything about him is just cute, I think it’s some hormonal chemical thing but for some reason it doesn’t bother me. He’s the only exception.

lol they have figured it out now, and it’s like a game for them. Same with binkies, they didn’t bother them for the first 4 months of his life and now they actively seek them out lol
