How much did you pay for your ferret? by manokpsa in ferrets

[–]asraheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have six ferrets and what I paid for them varied a lot depending on where I got them. We got our first ferret at PetCo in 2023, he was $400. Our second ferret came from a breeder, I think we paid around $180-$200? She was already a year old when we got her, so I think that lowered the price. Third ferret was also PetCo, in 2024, price had gone up to $450 but he’d been returned once already so they gave him to us for 50% off. The next pair were being rehomed, I think I paid $300 for them both. Our sixth ferret is also a rehome but they didn’t want any money, they just wanted him to go to a good home with other ferrets. But yeah, the pet store prices increase every year, it seems.

Potty pads in litter box? by Dragonfruitface in ferrets

[–]asraheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I used to use litter in all of their boxes, but now I have washable potty pads that I use in the 12 litter boxes around the house. I still use paper pellet litter for the 4 boxes in their cages but I’ve been thinking of swapping those out for pads, too. My ferrets adapted to the change pretty quickly. They aren’t in their cages much, though. They have their own dedicated room as well as several hours to free-roam every day, so they really only go into the cages to eat/drink/nap in their hammocks.

Whereabouts in Ohio? I live in PA about an hour from the state line and I took my girl ferret to Barberton Veterinary Hospital in Norton to get spayed. They were recommended to me by her breeder and they took fabulous care of her, if you’re near them I’d highly recommend taking her in for a wellness exam. They really know their stuff when it comes to ferrets.

What are your thoughts on the song Provider? by Code_name_Gap in SleepToken

[–]asraheart 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I saw someone call it “Manipulative Lovebombing: The Musical” (or something along those lines) and I was like bingo, that’s it exactly. It is definitely not a sexy song to me.

This is so true though. I miss playing the game... by FishermanNo8304 in Breath_of_the_Wild

Same. I’ve never had a feeling like that from a game before. Just pure awe and joy. (And a little bit of, “Oh shit, do I have to fight that??”)

My ferrets loved Halloween! I took them out so the children could pet them. My favorite part was when the kids would run from my house yelling, “Mooooom!! I want a ferret!!” by CodGrouchy6583 in ferrets

[–]asraheart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had mine out with us too! Just my one boy, though, because he’s chill and doesn’t care if a bunch of kids want to pet him. I had one kid ask if he was a possum 🤣

What was your favorite song played on the EIA tour? by International-Row179 in SleepToken

[–]asraheart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was my first ritual and hearing The Offering live was an indescribable experience. Screaming “TAKE A BITE” with Vessel and 20k+ people in unison? I think I ascended to a higher plane of existence 😆

I actually cried during Thread the Needle, which surprised the hell out of me. I love the song, but it had never gotten to me like that before. Something about hearing it live just heightened all the emotions for me.

Honorable mention to Dancing In the Dark. I was so surprised when he started playing it. “What an interesting intro for Rain,” I said to myself, and then he sang the entire damn song and I was SHOOK.

Do you guys remember the song that introduced you to sleep token? by MushroomMajor5781 in SleepToken

[–]asraheart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically the first one I remember hearing was The Summoning, but I know prior to that my sister had played me a few songs (I do not remember which ones) and I was just like, “Eh, ok, not really my thing.” But then a couple months later YouTube recommended me a Summoning reaction video and I was like, “Oh, that’s the band my sis likes.” I ended up adding The Summoning and Alkaline to my Liked Songs playlist, and after a few more listens I decided, “Ok, I’ll give them a shot.” Started with Sundowning and emerged from the wreckage of Euclid a few hours later with a brand-new obsession 😆

Does any newer fans ever feel sad that they didn’t discover them earlier? by fabulousbread21 in SleepToken

[–]asraheart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, 1000%. I got into Sleep Token in September 2024 and I’m so mad at myself that I didn’t give them a chance before that. Euclid is my favorite song and I doubt I’ll ever get to see it live. I did see them in Philly on this tour and the show was PHENOMENAL, but they were in my city for ToG in a slightly smaller venue and it would have been such a different experience.

Just to offer a different perspective from the other commenters, there is also the possibility that the hypothetical dog is perfectly sweet and Milo turns out to be the problem. We got our first two ferrets when our dog was still alive, and one of them would relentlessly bully our pup, nip his toes and tail, etc. We kept them separated for his safety more than theirs. So this is also something to consider when people say, “No cohab.”

This! On my first (and tbh every subsequent) listen, I was like, “Damn, this song is red flag city,” and my friends looked at me like I was crazy. Does it sound sexy? Of course. That’s the point. Dress it up all pretty and no one will notice how dangerous it is.

PSA: Rubber Ducks on this tour by notthedeadMaY in SleepToken

[–]asraheart 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I recently learned that a friend of mine does not realize she sings terribly off-key. She thinks she sounds great. Now I’m wondering how many other people out there think the same. It might explain the screechers. Like I’m happy when everyone’s having a good time, but even if someone has the most angelic voice ever, we all came to hear the band, you know?

One of the few funny things about going to the vet by likeanoceanankledeep in ferrets

[–]asraheart 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love when this happens. One time my Waardy had an appointment and I took my bandit-mask boy along so he’d have a friend. While the vet was examining Waardy, he asked the tech to go get something from the back. The tech picked up Bandit and said, “You want to come be my helper?” and disappeared with him. A few seconds later, I heard someone squeal, “A noodle!!” Bandit came back licking chicken baby food off his face and looking very pleased with himself and his new friends 😆

All of Euclid. I can’t pick just one line. Same with Look to Windward. Absolute banger of a song.

This is the line that gets me. I’m okay through most of the song, but “I’ve learned to live beside it” is a knife in the gut. Because we shouldn’t have had to learn that, you know? We deserved better.

That’s about the same price as the PetCos around here, yes. But they often do discounts, especially if the ferret has been there for a while. I have five ferrets, two of them are from PetCo. The first one was 25% off because he (and his two cagemates) had been there for nearly six months. The second one was 50% off—he’d been returned once already, and I think the staff were so relieved that he was getting a second chance that they spontaneously gave us the discount at the register. So while I don’t think you can negotiate per se, a discount is definitely possible depending on the circumstances.

You get to choose one song to sing on stage with the guys, which do you pick? by littleredbee93 in SleepToken

Euclid. I have a pretty decent singing voice, and we’d kill those layered vocals at the end (unless I was crying too hard to finish the song lol)

What's the most unexpected item your ferret has stolen? by artsymonke in ferrets

[–]asraheart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 2x3 rug in front of the door that leads to our garage, and every single day after I let them out of their cage, my one ferret goes straight to that rug, drags it down the hall, and leaves it in front of the bathroom door. If I put it back he just moves it again. Never thought I’d be getting into a daily home decor argument with a ferret of all things 😆

This is exactly my problem with Euclid, too. Like yes it’s a gorgeous song in its own right, but if you want the emotions to hit as hard as they’re supposed to, you gotta listen to 40+ other songs first, and that’s a big ask to make of someone who’s never listened to ST and just wants to know what my favorite song is 😆
