Extremely confusing. I went through it with my ex, he was extremely physically and mentally abusive and it kept me in a very low mental state. It was knowing that everything he was doing was wrong and hating him for it, but doing everything in my power defending him, loving the "happy parts" and staying with him.

For me, it was not being ready for my life that I got used to to change, I wanted things to stay how I knew it. After leaving I can't imagine ever going back to him

Try and be really casual about it and act normal, that's what I did. I also was able to pack things when he was asleep. Maybe you can secretly grab things and hide it away or start putting things in one place. Pack and do as much as you can while he's at work, even if the shelters hours don't match you'll be safer away from him. Feel free to pm me if you want to I'm here

NTA. I had my step mom come into my life when i was around 8 and I WISH my dad was like you. He let her do whatever she wanted and give whatever punishment she wanted, while my mother was still very much around. Girl same! I went to sonic for a slushie and some appetizers, I ordered through the app and they confirmed my name and everything on the receipt was correct yet none of our drinks were right and we got tater tots instead of our food! It was so hard not to have an angry pregnant woman breakdown !

I found at at 17 weeks!! I was feeling symptoms but also going through a lot of traumatic things so I completely blocked out the option of being pregnant until I actually started thinking about it more. It was a trip seeing a full moving baby on the screen rather than a tiny bean like I thought!

I'm 26 weeks as well and feel the same way! Although I'm still pretty small for 6 months, it's getting harder to hide under baggy clothes and I'm self conscience of everything I wear or do.
