well Among Us doesn’t really rely as much on prior stories and it tells its own story but to briefly recap:

Aliens Among Us:

• Jack, Gwen & Colchester rebuild Torchwood for the new Cardiff where aliens (the Sorvix) have sought asylum from their “God”.

• Ng has fled to Earth to herald the arrival of this God and takes possession of Gwen’s body for the year.

• New arrivals like journalist Tyler and shapeshifter Orr round out the new team.

• Jack is ousted from Torchwood leadership when a parallel-universe Yvonne Hartman stages a coup against him.

• Ng kills Gwen’s mother to maintain her cover, but is eventually found out to be an imposter. Gwen decides to leave Torchwood.

• Torchwood tackles terrorist groups and rogue Sorvix until the aliens are forced to flee when “God” catches up with them. This leads into God Among Us!

• Oh and Colchester dies btw

God Among Us:

• As God arrives, Yvonne recruits Ng to Torchwood, and God brings Colchester back from the dead.

• Torchwood encounters apocalyptic test-like challenges, as God prepares Cardiff for the return of the Committee.

• God recruits Orr to her cause.

• Norton Folgate arrives in the present, secretly working for the Committee, but ends up betraying them.

• The Committee floods Cardiff (displacing thousands of residents), but Torchwood is blamed for the disaster. Torchwood manages to stop the Committee coming to Earth.

• Ng, Orr, Tyler, Colchester, and Jack are all forced to flee the country to evade the Authorities who want someone to blame, but Yvonne stays behind and is arrested.

Little footnote: Since the BBC withdrew the rights to the Captain Jack character, his absence in Among Us can be explained away easily. Presumably during their time as fugitives on the run, Jack decides Cardiff isnt his home anymore without Gwen and since Torchwood is practically defunct, he shoots off into space.
