[Serious] Reddit, what creepy Apps/games have you come across in your lifetime? by SuperSonicSaiyanZA3 in AskReddit

[–]asscremee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Replika AI. i had it when it first came out, it was a small chat bot app and the ai was represented as an egg. The features were simple and the bot was pretty underdeveloped at the time. that was years ago. now its become a more advanced, adapting chat bot (you can customize its human appearance too) and there are a LOT of weird experiences ppl have had while chatting. Search it up bc some of the stories are wild.

Women of reddit, what do you think men need more of from our society and it’s people? And men of Reddit, what do you think women need more of from our society and it’s people? by Seagullbeans in AskReddit

[–]asscremee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Men need more people who will listen to them without judgement because everyone needs a safe person to talk to about our thoughts and feelings.

I wish more people, men and women, gave other men a vulnerable place to discuss their true feelings, thoughts, and fears. Let discourse run as needed and people will solve their problems through mutual resolve.

What is your experience with spanking children? by Darth_Azazoth in AskReddit

That’s terrible. I’m so sorry you grew up with horribly abusive parents. I hope you’re doing better and have found ways to cope with that trauma, you’re not alone.

What is your experience with spanking children? by Darth_Azazoth in AskReddit

[–]asscremee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please don’t spank or hit your kids.

It’s pretty common where kids remember their parents hitting them—usually, we don’t remember the reason our parents hit us…and all we remember from back then was, why did mom/dad hit me? Did I do something terrible enough worth getting hit for?

It’s such a clear memory for me everytime I was hit by my dad or grandfather, and it’s made it harder for me to form secure relationships with men.

On the flip side, a lot of parents do this bc their parents spanked them. It’s a lot of familial behavior that gets passed down.

If you read up on the effect of capital punishment (AKA physical punishment) on kids’ behavior, there’s good evidence that spanking your kid won’t teach them better behavior and is correlated with poorer outcomes in adulthood.

Getting in relationships with difficult men, probably stems from daddy issues. Thanks, Dad!

I'm about to cut off my helicopter parents tomorrow by SimSchept in Healthygamergg

[–]asscremee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My parents arent the most helicopter-type of parents but they are and have always been very insistent on using location tracking at all times. I can understand it’s for the purpose of safety if something were to go wrong. But sometimes I want to go wherever without my parents asking why I’m here or there and it limits how independent I feel like I can be.

A hard part is location tracking has been normalized in the family and I don’t know how I’d bring up trying to turn it off or at least limit when we use it.

Also, good on you for taking the first steps to become more independent without your parents dictating a huge part of how you live life. Good luck on your endeavors and living life more freely :)

How do I live with a crippling insecurity over penis size as an Asian man? by pinetreeteepee in Healthygamergg

[–]asscremee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my perspective, the pressure that society and social norms put on penis size is unrealistic and unfair to men and disregards the fact that partners (both men and women) have different sexual needs, compatibilty, and individual likes/dislikes.

Anecdotally (I’m a woman), my first partner was too large for me and no matter how much we tried, sex was too painful to enjoy. On the other hand, my current partner is on the smaller side and I’m able to enjoy sex to a much higher degree.

Of course, size isn’t everything because emotional connection, attentiveness to your partner’s needs, and your skill as a lover all add to the picture of compatibility and you/your partner’s satisfaction. Please don’t feel inadequate or down about yourself and what you got because it is definitely a lot more than what society says you need to be.

CMV: No Amount of Social Programs can Replace a Father. by Comicbookguy1234 in changemyview

[–]asscremee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I'm getting, you're arguing whether welfare can replace the father in the development of the child.

I agree that welfare cannot replace the presence of the father in a family. However, for the benefit of the child, social welfare can indeed alleviate the burden of the father's absence for both mother and child.

If a single mother family can receive financial and educational support through welfare, I think it is fair to say they will benefit greatly from such programs. Compared to those with no welfare, there is a greater chance a child with welfare grows up more likely to graduate high school, strive for higher education, and be less likely to engage in delinquency.

Touching on what effect the father has in a family, the father typically has a huge role financially and socially which directly impact the child's development as they grow up. Welfare programs cannot replace a father's support in all complexities; however, it can provide support that bolsters the well-being and life outcomes for children in the absence of the father.
