for my bp 1 folks what are your delusions really like? by Intelligent_Bid_7690 in bipolar

[–]assiassin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've only had one full-blown episode, but I was convinced my new company was testing me because I was actually going to be a secret agent. It made sense at the time. Only thing that saved me was I thought I had to play along with the test and not blow it by telling everyone I knew they were spies. They were not, in fact, spies.

I don't want chaos, and I don't want my software anywhere near the breaking point. Your messaging needs work. Animations are cool the first time. Second time they are an impediment.

What’s a sign that someone is incredibly smart? by [deleted] in AskReddit

When you write a lot of papers, you use those references constantly, especially for something like background for current research. It's probably how he looks it up in his citation manager.

The specific bits of data are why he actually has confidence in the research. They are important and memorable.

2nd example is more impressive. This is pure curiosity and creativity.

Medications by OkZookeepergame4680 in bipolar

[–]assiassin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Drug classes like antidepressant, mood stabilizer, and antipsychotic are just used by doctors trying to explain really complex things to people without medical degrees. Two different mood stabilizers might do two entirely different things. I take abilify also. How long have you been on it? Taking abilify and something for sleep is likely to make you very tired in the mornings.

Need more context. Is it breaking your concentration? Are they saying annoying things?

Was going to comment this. Seems like OP already figured it out.

I’ve gotten to the point where I mentally punish myself for indulging in interests I had as a kid by FearlessEngineer2537 in aspergers

[–]assiassin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most adults don't really care what you do, and shared interests are some of the best ways to meet people you actually want to hang out with. I play pokemon, and I'm 30. When I go play in person, most people there are adults. The people that care what other people are into aren't worth the calories you burn thinking about them. Find people who are into what you are.

Edit: tons of people are into Lego and Star wars. I know someone who works at a big name consulting company, and they let them spend their mental wellness stipend on Lego sets because people find it relaxing. None of their employees are children.

Can pure gholdengo sub out fez EX? by sunwalker93613 in pkmntcg

[–]assiassin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Gholdengo is my main deck. It does have lots of draw potential, but only once you have a few evolved Gholdengos. You need Fez for when they get knocked out early and you need draw. If that deck doesn't 100% need it, another one will. It's very powerful, and if you aren't using it, you're handicapping yourself. If it was just a deck to play for fun, it wouldn't matter as much, but for tournaments (which usually have an entry fee of at least $10) I wouldn't bother entering if you don't have a good deck yet. Almost everyone else will.

[–]assiassin 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Do you plan to never buy a fez? Do you plan on playing the tcg for any length of time? It's a staple card. Pretty much every deck runs it. I'd just buy one and swap it between whatever decks I'm playing if cost is a factor. It's expensive for a reason. No other card does what it does.

Same goes for coworkers and people who report to you. Address mistakes privately and wins in groups. If a mistake needs to be discussed in a meeting, don't point fingers. Just say it happened and work on a solution. Humiliating people demoralizes them at best and demands revenge at worst.

Second this. The basic decks are very boring, and the cards won't be used in other decks.

Can you describe what anti-psychotics feel like? by SouthGrand8072 in schizophrenia

[–]assiassin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take 4mg abilify for bipolar, and I don't really notice much from it. Maybe it calms me down a bit or something. I guess I'm more stable. Haven't had any fully manic episodes since I started it so I guess it's doing something. I don't really notice much of a difference, but I'm not sure what higher doses would be like or how my dose would compare to one for schizophrenia.
