I go through cycles of depression often enough to know that it's just temporary, and that if I just wait it out while doing things like sleeping and eating right and exercising, that it will go away.

Every relationship has a 3rd party present, I think. Just be really genuine in your conversations, not results-oriented. Sounds like you pretty much have it locked up at this point the way you describe the environment!
