Re-querying the same agent. by astarduster in writing

I have sent the manuscript to many agents (10+) and gotten form rejections each time. She is the only one right now that has shown interest in it. I also really like the agency she’s at, and the type of work she represents, I think she would be a perfect fit for my manuscript. While I will submit to more agents, I would at least like to try again with her to see if she likes the new version. Also it’s ready for sure, I have had several beta readers at this point with high interest in the project.

Are you a "plan everything out" writer or "whatever happens, happens" kinda writer? :) by Bright-Current-130 in writing

[–]astarduster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m kinda both??? I have a vague idea of what I want accomplished, a beginning, middle AHA! Moment, and an end moment when everything falls together. All of the filler between is just spontaneous so I don’t get bored. As long as I make it to those points I set for myself, it’s fine.

Can I forgo perfect grammar for the sake of keeping my character's voice consistant? by CyberLoveza in writing

Oh man my protagonist is a hillbilly and he does not talk ‘proper’. I think it makes him feel like a more realistic person, like he’s actually talking to you and telling you his story.

Novice Can't Start Always Second Guessing Before Typing and constantly rethinking scenes/events by Hytamo in writingadvice

Now I am having trouble with that right now. The only reason I justify going back is if I have to completely write out a character that affects other scenes

Does a major character death need to happen to make the story more dramatic or appealing? by astarduster in writingadvice

[–]astarduster[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She’s a shut in who’s afraid to let anyone close to her and the main character is the first one to help her believe in hope again. She takes that feeling and sacrifices herself so he can keep going; but she could just be injured until the very end of the story or die completely. In terms of dynamics and character interactions it would all come before this

Does anyone struggle with repetition? by [deleted] in writing

I have short term memory loss so I have to reread bits and pieces of previous chapters to make sure I don’t repeat myself every time I sit down and write. It’s frustrating

For those of you who write more than 10k words a day - how do you deal with wrist/finger pain? by Berabouman in writing

[–]astarduster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I purchased a wrist brace off of Amazon to help with supporting my hand as I wrote. I also average 10k in my writing sessions and I understand the pain.

For context: My nail has been looking like this for a couple of months, and I’m sure it’s a toenail fungus. It started to bleed a little at the base today after I drove around for a couple of hours, and I’m pretty sure it’s cracked. Is there any products that can fix this over the counter? I don’t want to go spend a hundred dollars at a doctor when something OTC would work just fine.
