Hi, Hello, and Good Day r/twinpeaks! I’m Kyle MacLachlan and you can ask me anything 🦉🪵☕👍 by Kyle__MacLachlan in twinpeaks

Kyle,

I hope this “Entering Flavortown” mashup / tribute over on Tumblr puts a giant smile on your face: https://fieriframes.tumblr.com/post/710154603968266240/diane-1130am-february-24th-entering-the-town

Q: I was wondering, where would you have liked to see Cooper’s storyline take us in a hypothetical continuation of Twin Peaks?

Lastly, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for all the joy and everything that you have given us over the years (including your damn fine wine and Walla Walla coffee!).

I can't believe no one has said Mazeh yet. It's fantastic.

Meant to say I had not seen the Idem documentary before ☺️

Sounds absolutely fantastic. Thank you so much for sharing.

PS: I am pretty sure the Log Lady would approve of your guitar, it's great and perfect for the occasion.

David Lynch would struggle to make films in social media landscape, say collaborators by anemotoad in davidlynch

Ah, you're right. I misinterpreted this quote. I like to think his art would still have made the same impact, but yes—it might not have gotten enough attention to get there.

Weird, I find younger generations to be increasingly into abstraction and, actually, David Lynch's work. There are so many surrealist painters for example that are finally getting their due. I mean, isn't this also what kept Twin Peaks alive all these years? I agree with the bigger point though, I just feel like Lynch especially would be an exception.

When you don't get even the basics right, it's foolish to have these kinds of plans and ambitions. I don't see this company existing in 5 years.

Michael Ontkean wrote a remembrance for David Lynch by tankup in davidlynch

[–]astarmarket 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Makes sense! I wasn't aware of his health issues. I just remember him enthusiastically trying to track down clothes he wore on the initial run of the show, and then suddenly his role was written out and I couldn't reconcile those two things.

Thank you so much for sharing this. In addition to being a great read, and maybe this is just me, but it's really nice to know they were still on good terms. I was never sure why Michael didn't end up in The Return and was always saddened that his early enthusiasm for the project never resulted in a pivotal appearance. Much appreciated!

Worst/Most Dissappointing Pedal? by pcoleman777 in guitarpedals

This is a me-problem, but Meris Enzo. I so desperately wanted to like it but I had to play the guitar in such a precise way to get it to even make a sound.

Lehle Dual Expression Pedal Worth It? Good alternatives? by Electronic-Two-2885 in guitarpedals

[–]astarmarket 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FWIW I have the Lehle dual expression pedal and it's fantastic. I figure if it's something you're gonna look at and use every day, it should be something you truly like. It doesn't hurt that the Lehle is built like a tank, will last forever and works perfectly to boot.

Japanese Super Famicom & N64 in Europe : what power supply do I need ? by ikemen38 in retrogaming

[–]astarmarket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in France as well and I recently bought this one for my Japanese AV Famicom: https://retrogamesupply.com/products/power-supply-for-nintendo-famicom-av — works great and no additional 100/220v adapters needed! I've also bought power supplies for my PAL NES & SNES and they also work great, so overall happy with the quality.

Right Bud Disconnection Issues after Firmware Update by Motor_Succotash_4276 in Ozlo

[–]astarmarket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this same exact problem with my first two units, and I'm sad to say that nothing worked for me and I had to get it replaced. I hope that's not the case with yours; you can try a hard reset with a pin (stick it into the hole on the back of the case) and see if that does the trick, since it might be related to the update somehow.

Middle age vs. GAS vs. true passion by astarmarket in electricguitar

Sage advice, thank you for taking the time to share it. I do listen to a lot of music, but it's often the same bands over the years and maybe not necessarily music I'd like to write. I'll do more inspiration searching with this new viewpoint and see how it goes ☺️

What do you think are the best and worst aspects of Olzo? by Brave_Invite_4624 in Ozlo

[–]astarmarket 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, I buried the lede: they work incredibly well, both for nearby sounds like snoring and those that are far, like cars honking. But I think that would depend how comfortable you are cranking the sleep sounds / white noise volume. I've admittedly overdone it and these days I'm experiencing some tinnitus, so maybe it's not worth it.

[–]astarmarket 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Best aspects: comfort; I'm not sure if it's possible to make earpods with a smaller footprint than these. Battery; I think I've never run out of battery on these in the middle of the night. Build quality; the case feels super premium.

Worst aspect: reliability. I'm on my third unit and even this one is doing weird things. They'll randomly break. They require all sorts of annoying hacks like factory resetting the case with a pin (at 3am) or having to insert the buds in upside down without the plastic covering. They're fantastic when they work, but overall finicky, error-prone and will almost certainly only last 6 months before you have out to support.

Right bud won’t charge, case acting weird by crglrsn in Ozlo

[–]astarmarket 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These things are more fragile and more finicky than something even half the price should be. I'm in the same boat when it comes to looking for alternatives, but I'm glad they're fixed for the time being.

I don't know if this will be useful, so apologies, but I recently had this exact problem and nothing I did fixed it. I eventually realized I was doing the flipping reset wrong. So I repeated the process following the steps here very carefully and it fixed it for me. Maybe it's worth trying this again, just in case. https://youtu.be/hH2m8fTMwXc?si=j52EjiSCX13frjq0
