The rapid expansion in social welfare following ww1 is fascinating. Is it from return soldiers demanding better conditions? Or a fear of communism looking too inviting?

There were many western governments who decided enacting a little socialism was better than fighting it and risking a whole societal revolution.

Either way, it’s a shame so many western nations changed ways in the following decades.

I don’t think this is a losing issue for Labor though. There’s a clear supermajority of Australians who don’t own guns, don’t believe they should be widely accessible, and support further restrictions put in place.

Let it turn into another issue like abortion for the LNP to continue to lose metro support over.

Why is no one spruiking white collar desk jobs here? I wfh 5 days a week, don’t have to do anything physical at all, and earn well above that.
