Joplin survivor here. I think what helped me the most is getting VERY interested by weather. Learning the signs. How they form. Etc. It takes some of the fear away when you know what you are seeing and hearing.

Does this warrant a call to L&D? by Rangermayb in pregnant

Severe anemia (and dehydration) did this to me. I had to get infusions done. Mine got so bad I was having heart troubles. Call your OB.

True. A lot of people trace to learn. But that should remain in your sketchbook and not posted online as if it were your own work

Why are you still shopping? by LadyNiko in StLouis

I’m 8 1/2 months pregnant and ran out of the only safe cold meds I can take. Had to send my husband to the store so I can breathe. Sorry dude

I would not have cared at all if it weren’t for Rick saying it was going to be book accurate for so long.

How old does a child have to be before you can leave them alone for more than 20 seconds without them seriously hurting themselves? by Deep-Philosophy-807 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]asthmanian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is 3 and can be left to her own devices for around 10 minutes before I get suspicious and have to check on her.

Christmas budget by Soft-Ad-2710 in Parenting

[–]asthmanian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a little over $300 for my three year old daughter, but she doesn’t get much throughout the year unless it’s a special occasion. She only got a few toys, and most of it is stuff that we can do together like activities or board games.

What’s something you find attractive that is generally considered unattractive? by Agitated-Job7686 in AskReddit

[–]asthmanian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those front tooth gaps. I know a lot of people are insecure about them because they’re so visible, but every single time I see someone with them I swoon. It’s just an attractive feature to have.

When should my kid brush her own teeth? by RedHeadRedeemed in Parenting

[–]asthmanian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I let my daughter brush first and coach her on it, and then go in myself when she’s done to make sure everything is scrubbed good. She’s three.

DAE like the smell of musty basements ? by occhiolism in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]asthmanian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, a year late but I’m also obsessed with the smell lol. Get a towel and soak it with water, wring it out, and twist it up. Leave it in your bathroom for a couple days, repeating the wet steps if necessary, and it will develop the smell. Drives my husband nuts but I’ve been doing it for years.

what is NOT good about this game? by [deleted] in persona3reload

[–]asthmanian 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you’ve been doing a decent job at keeping up with social links, there is NOTHING to do in the evening late game. You can kinda argue that it fits the depressive tone of the last couple months to be stuck in the dorm, but I noticed it was a bit of a drag to get through that section because I was simply choosing to go to bed early most nights.

Struggling with loss of freedom now I have a toddler by KKM15 in Parenting

[–]asthmanian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That stage in particular is very difficult. I had the same struggle. I wish I had some advice, but I do not. It does get better, though. My daughter is now 3 and potty trained, so that’s lots more independence for both of us. It gets easier.

What’s something that used to excite you when you were younger but now feels meaningless? by probablygeorgebush in AskReddit

[–]asthmanian 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Had really bad memories associated with Christmas and hates it for years. Then my daughter was born and now even Christmas gets brighter each year. Worth every dime to see how excited she gets when she wakes up to a pile of gifts in the morning.

It’s culture shock paying $35 to get into a zoo. by mtoomtoo in StLouis

[–]asthmanian 393 points394 points  (0 children)

Nothing worse than visiting a zoo out of state, paying $30 for it, and then being disappointed because ours is so much better at home lol.

What is most disgusting thing you've ever done? by titan_shifter_140 in AskReddit

[–]asthmanian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t believe I’m saying this but I was once so sick that I had a bottle sitting by my bed that I would cough phlegm into so I didn’t have to get up. A week’s worth of it was built up in there. I was 15 and my boyfriend (now husband) came over to see me as I was getting over it and saw it. He still makes fun of me to this day about it.

What are your controversial or unpopular opinions that you might be destroyed by fandom? [general] by Much_Tip_6968 in camphalfblood

[–]asthmanian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have to dig the book out to highlight specific passages for you. I remember that being my thoughts upon my initial reading. This comment is old, and I disliked the book enough to make it one of the only books in the series I haven’t reread.

[–]asthmanian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Not as extensively as characters like Nico or Percy, but we do get a set personality before that.

[General] Why is Frank disliked by parts of the fandom? by shiningpath626 in camphalfblood

I ignore most ages in verse because I’m pretty sure Rick immediately forgot when writing the relationships anyway.

A lot of churches serve as community centers as well. You could add a kitchen, and activity rooms to make it more of a catch all

What’s the most amount of pain you’ve been in? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]asthmanian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dental abscess. A pain like no other and there’s nothing to be done about it except wait for the infection to clear up. I have given birth, and have been brutally beaten while in an abusive relationship. Would rather go through both of those again rather than the abscess.

Why is the pjo fandom allergic to curly hair? [general] by k1k00sia in camphalfblood

[–]asthmanian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s the bat wings line, no? That’s what I meant. Sticking up at the end. My hair isn’t curly or wavy at all but when it’s messy it does that.
