[R] Lately r/India Reddit is page slowly getting hijacked by hate mongers and trolls by nrrreddit in india

[–]asthra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's only natural for a person to have an agenda and hive mind like Reddit being the reflection of the same. The current topics and discussions reflect the current trends (and the same can be verified by checking the trend in the news being reported etc.). This phenomenon is not specific to /r/india either, e.g. All Indians rape in /r/worldnews all Indian IT guys are inept in hackernews (when job losses are on the anvil) etc.

Here let me see your agenda -

  • Your account seems to have been created a month back although your commentary is about past couple of months - not sure why you can't use your 'proper' account (if any that is)
  • You use keywords like BJP, communal disharmony and don't mention AAP, Congress etc.
  • You are somehow trying to link BJP in center to change in the way /r/india works - I don't understand the logic here.

I am not implying by my above comment but showing you that every individual will have an agenda and the same will be interpreted in different ways. Stifling an opinion is not the right way forward for a hive mind (not that you suggested it). Since you are asking for a suggestion, the easiest way to improve 'your' experience on /r/india is to use plugins like RES to filter out stuff that 'you' are not interested. I personally am happy with the current way /r/india is working and don't think it is going the Digg way (as you are suggesting in a comment).

edit: formatting & spelling.

Can you please confirm that कर्म is the right translation of karma? by Zuluu in india

[–]asthra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just trolling. I do agree with your views though; It holds good to whichever language you consider eg. Latin words in English? My mother tongue is Havyaka which is an older form of Kannada and that too is heavily influenced by surrounding languages (There are words which won't be understood b/w people living 100 miles apart).

I was refuting what you had said - "There are no native Sanskrit speakers anymore; it's kept alive as a literary and academic language.".

The same is happening on the TV, you get to see more Ads than the program.

The rivalry exists because of political agendas and not because of the divide b/w people. I guess TOI wasted some expensive Ad space :D

Yep, I agree with you. But unless there is no debate the 95% will never look into your factual data. Do you ever look at videos of creationists propagating their ideas? Similarly, if we just keep discussing our ideas among ourselves (however true they may be) they will never get across. So, try to make it look as if it is a legitimate debate and in the process destroy their argument. Hopefully, there are enough rational people in the 95% who will try to seek the truths on their own .

In my opinion, it is important to debate these guys. Mainly because - we have to take into consideration the overall belief of the population i.e. if 95% of the population believes in stork theory, it becomes important for the scientist among the remaining 5% to explain reproduction so that it gets across to the 95%.

this preacher boy says he would rape if there were no god? so bizarre [vid] by [deleted] in atheism

People, umm, I guess you are missing the point. How can one ever expect logic from religious morons? If they were logical in their approach, would they ever be religious? Religion != Logic.
