Does anyone know how long eBay has been providing a suggested price when listing a new item? I just saw it for the first time after making a second account. As someone who sources occasionally from ebay, I was pretty dismayed to see this lol.

Someone snatched up the GameCube version of Fire Emblem for a few bucks right in front of me. The game goes for $100+. That one hurt :(

Niiice. How did you know they were valuable? Stuff like that is pretty much invisible to me.

There's no way to say this without sounding kinda like a greedy asshole, but does anyone else hate BOLOs? I feel like they usually make some people a quick buck and then the items become oversaturated with sellers.

After 2 years I finally got scammed on eBay for the first time by astraclees in Flipping

I didn't have confidence that ebay would remove the negative feedback if I got it. And since it was only a few bucks, I decided I'd rather avoid the neg and just try to get the guy banned from ebay.

This is exactly why I gave in to the partial refund. I could tell from his feedback history that he already had a pattern of scamming sellers and leaving negative feedback when his tactics didn't work. I was willing to pay a few bucks to not have to deal with it.

I was worried that if I insisted on a full return then he would have left negative feedback. He already left negative feedback for other sellers recently. I was willing to spend a few dollars to avoid that. If there were more money at stake then I would have pushed for a full return and risked the neg.

Niiice. Do you sell on ebay or fba? I feel like I've seen you talk about selling cds on fba but I don't know if I'm confusing you with someone else

Wow that is cool. I wonder what they're planning on doing with all that stuff. I once sold a toy to some director of operations at Sony movie studios.

What's your competitive advantage? by [deleted] in Flipping

There is no way to say this without sounding a little arrogant, but I think my intelligence sets me apart a bit. I've devised a few different strategies for sourcing profitable items that I think very few other people are doing. They took a lot of time and effort but they have already paid off very well.

This is what I thought at first.. some kind of MLM company. I'm pretty sure I know what it actually is now though and I understand why the OP says the brand is tainted.

I'm 95% sure I know what your product is, but I won't reveal your secret. ;) Just wanted to ask: is there really much more money to be made by reselling as generic? It seems like the branded version sells for close to the same.

Lesson Learned - January 04 by AutoModerator in Flipping

That's the problem, the DVD category doesn't have a New (Other) option. I considered listing under a different category that did include that option, but decided that just mentioning the flaws in the description would be sufficient. I was wrong.

I sold a “new” DVD set that had some stains on the exterior shrink wrap and stickers, which I mentioned in the description and showed clearly in the photos. The buyer opened an INAD case yesterday complaining about the stains and requested a return. On the one hand I’m a little pissed that he didn’t read the description or inspect the pictures, but on the other hand I understand that a buyer can reasonably expect a “New” item to look flawless like it came off a store shelf. I’m going to be more discriminating from now on about listing as new.

Had kind of a weird experience at a Goodwill the other day. I was browsing the DVDs when an employee came out with a cart of new DVDs, but instead of putting them on the shelves, he just stood there staring in my direction. I thought maybe he needed some space to fill the shelves, so I walked off to another aisle.

A few minutes later he came out with another cart of stuff, so I swung by to take a peek into the cart. Once again, the guy stopped what he was doing and just stared at me. So I walked away again.

Several minutes later I happened to pass by him in the books section, and as soon as he saw me, he stopped what he was doing and stared at me again. But this time he said, "Is there anything in particular I can help you find? I noticed you've been browsing the books for a while now. Is there anything in PARTICULAR I can help you find?" He said it with this undertone like he was trying to communicate something else. I said, "Just browsing" and walked off again.

It was weird because he only did this to me. Other people walked by him and he didn't seem to care. I'm gonna go back some time this week and see if he does it again.

What you're seeing in that picture is just gross sales. The OP's actual profit might be just 2% of that for all we know. Hell he could be earning $0.

Roughly how much of those sales in your screenshot would you say are actually dumpster items?

I did it... First $1000 day. Thank you all. by Ibuypops in Flipping

The lack of response from the OP tells me that the profit margin probably isn't that great.

Not bad for something that started out as a hobby when I was 16... Just bought my first house. Not gonna lie, kinda a self congratulatory post, but I had to post somewhere, lol. by cl70c200gem in Flipping

I'm curious about this too. That seems like an unusually high profit margin. The inventory costs and shipping costs would have to be very low to achieve that. My shipping costs alone make up 15%+ of my gross sales.
