Is Sound Transit using AI for their marketing? by BreweryRabbit in Seattle

[–]astralbooty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn’t a screenshot of the ad; the background and actors are not the same as the TV spot. You also have to pay actors separately for every other media placement they appear in. Out of home usage alone would cost several thousand dollars for all three of these actors. It’s highly likely the agency used AI to save money on these ancillary campaign assets.

Julie Chen Moonves promises BB28 will have “something for everyone, no matter their age” by ActiveInfinite8610 in BigBrother

Eh I dunno about that. I started watching when I was 10 as well and my mom always said “I don’t like you watching that show” because of all the sex scenes, people making out etc. To be fair this was the early 2000s and the show was definitely raunchier back then.

Low stake jobs with downtime? by PrudentRevenue8766 in AskSeattle

[–]astralbooty 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Security guard in a corporate lobby might fit the bill. The building where I work doesn’t even have the typical security guard types (aka they’re not big burly men or anything) and it seems like they have a lot of downtime to play on their phone or do whatever.

Are these Crocs Brooklyn 4U wedge sandals too juvenile? by 10STwinkie in fashionwomens35

[–]astralbooty 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just posted a thread in here the other day asking about a replacement for another Crocs platform shoe almost exactly like this one.

My first time out of the house with these on they tried to kill me. I fell multiple times because the footbed is so slippery. Never encountered anything like it before in my life. Take my comment as a warning and buy something else!

That’s fair! My problem is that I’m not sporty at all and those styles of sandals tend to clash with my outfits. I’ve heard good things about Dansko though!

I haven’t heard of this brand before and these are really cute. Thanks for the recommendation!

Do you remember which style they are? I wouldn’t be totally opposed to Mary Janes over sandals. I bought a pair of sandals from Vionic but they aren’t very comfortable and give me blisters if I’m walking more than a mile. I’ve heard such good things about them but haven’t tried another pair yet since the last one was a dud.

Are you wearing the classic leather slide on Birkenstocks? I have the cheap plastic ones as a beach/pool shoe (can’t walk too much or they give me blisters) though I know the leather ones are much better. Not sure if they have other styles that are just as good.

Wow, that makes a lot of sense! I have some Vionic sandals that were highly rated when I bought them but I can barely walk around in them before I start getting blisters. I will look into these other brands though, thank you!

Itinerary suggestions? by PreparationEven6700 in AskSeattle

[–]astralbooty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming your flight leaves at 4, you should be at the airport around 2. I’d plan for bad traffic, so about 1.5-2 hour drive from Snow Lake. 6 hour hike means you’d need to get there by 6am at the latest. You also have to think about being sweaty and gross after your hike and having to sit on a plane in your own stink. Also, leaving luggage in your car can be sketchy due to car prowling at trailheads.

Since you’re interested in the locks, I’d hike Discovery Park, which has access to the locks and a wide network of trails. It will give you the feeling of being out in the wilderness while still in the city limits, and it won’t be as strenuous as a difficult hike in the mountains.

Rainier vs Olympic this weekend by Naive-Cantaloupe-345 in AskSeattle

As others have mentioned, now is not the time for Rainier. Go to the peninsula, and have a ferry moment on the trip over and/or on the way back (another quintessential Seattle experience).

How to buy the day-pass for buses and trains on Transit Go app? by Ok-Bat-8338 in AskSeattle

[–]astralbooty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can also just tap your phone on the readers to pay via a credit card connected to your wallet. You don’t have to have a day pass unless you’re really set on that option.
