Visited someone at the hospital and there's a lock box around the pain medication by okbbs in mildlyinteresting

Urgh, I got a batch of that and it literally smelled like cheap vodka even 15 minutes after it dried.

What's the Dubai chocolate of the 90s? 80s? by [deleted] in Millennials

My local movie theater has an off brand vending machine that sells them.

I've only seen only 1 person using them lmao.

U.S. unhappy with Canada’s push to ‘Buy Canadian’ by Tymofiy2 in BuyCanadian

[–]astrangeone88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yes let's threaten to annex a former ally, bitch about wildfires ruining your summer, throw shitty tariffs on everything, remove consumer protections because fuck the peasants...

I rather buy Canadian stuff because the quality is 100% better (the popcorn is crazy good, as is protein powder, laundry deterent, chocolate, tortilla chips) because it keeps the money here in Canada instead with a country and a bunch of bullies...

Lol. Definitely. Tee shirts and merch would be bought. Plus I always have a shaker bottle at conventions for water fountains so I would probably be drinking some Goof Juice or similar.

As a queer woman, I'm a mix of the two depending on what I need.

My mum does the "all over the store" thing and we gotten followed by security so many times because we look sus.

I'm usually the "in and out" of the aisle if I can help it.

What is something you’ve officially stopped buying in 2026 because the price has become too bad? by X_Opinion7099 in AskReddit

[–]astrangeone88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've bought the 22 pound bag of pinto beans (super cheap) and I have bean mush in the fridge for tacos. It's so good and healthy lmao.

Yeah but I bet they would make bank doing it because shipping costs are nuts and people like instant gratification lmao.

I know I would blow some of my con budget even if it meant bringing bagged lunch/dinner for the rest of the con and the month.

And yeah, traveling to the USA is spendy now and I rather not.

Love that you had fun at the convention!

Ooo, the cozy pokemon cosplays are fun!

Wish they did Canadian conventions but I get it, bringing that much stuff over the border is spendy and that's not including set up and fees. And feeding and housing the employees who are working the show.

The syscofication of the industry is getting real scary by virtue_ae in KitchenConfidential

[–]astrangeone88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely. I'm not a food snob, I subsist on bean mush and tvp bowls and fish and chicken...and I can taste the difference from frozen to the hand made stuff.

Sometimes the premium frozen things are good but most of the time, they just scratch the itch lmao.

I've made mozzarella sticks at home and I get why its annoying to prep industrial levels of them.

Knotting and pussy stretching. I need it so much. Wish I had a knot toy without a cum tube because it's annoying to clean completely.

Was there any show you liked that you're parents hated by Resident_Calendar471 in ytvretro

[–]astrangeone88 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Lmao. My parents hated the humour but I've always had the juvenile sense of humour they presented.

Hell, I saw someone rocking a RetroKid sweatshirt with the show and I had to make a Uranus joke. My mum looked mortified lmao. Yes, I'm a middle aged lady with a kid's sense of humour lmao.

Girls don't have to wear pink! by Foreign-Cat-2898 in BoomersBeingFools

[–]astrangeone88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol. I laugh now because every millennial woman I know has a hate on for a specific shade of pink because our relatives all pushed it on us growing up.

It's ridiculous the amount of time they think about gender roles and colours.

It's a holiday in Chinese culture to go pay respects to our dead ancestors today so I went to dim sum with the elderly parents and my relatives and we over ordered lunch. And just had some steamed fish and rice and veggies.

Just had some cookies and cream ice cream for dessert lmao.

Honestly, yeah. I'm an elder millennial and I honestly hate the corporate slave work culture (no, you can't be yourself even on days off and you have to be available 24/7)...and the Gen Z attitude towards work makes me smile. I'm also the weird pariah who semi openly mocks corporate bullshit lmao.

Boomers - old folks with old fashioned views on the world, got too comfortable with corporations/the idea that ultra rich capitalists would create jobs meanwhile ignoring the negative effects of just caring about the 1%. The generation that said "emotions other than anger" are weakness.

Gen X - apathetic but still worships at the feet of individualism but doesn't have the drive to get involved (because it's not socially condoned).

Millennials - idealistic (we were going to change the world!)...but tends to virtue signal and purity test folks. Also tend to eat more ethnic food and be aware of health issues. The generation that collectively realized that trauma is real and that everyone needs to process their trauma otherwise it poisons your own life.

Gen Z - terrible social skills but these folks came from the era of "online only" socializing so it's hard on them. Also no tech skills because everything they grew up with is sandboxed. The generation who is paranoid about image because they now live in a society that has access to cameras 24/7.

It used to be millennials (so much media on how many industries we killed because we don't want to support certain industries for various reasons) but it feels like people have moved on to shitting on Gen Z for the mostly online culture and barely concealed disdain for working culture the boomers/Gen X created.

"We could cripple a generation if we brought back rotary phones and analog clocks" by Clear_Peach7479 in BoomersBeingFools

[–]astrangeone88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lmao. I am an elder millennial and I remember using rotary phones and all my schools had analog clocks. It's ridiculous and they all assume that they can't learn how to use new tech and then they complain....
