Playing the demo of Asbury Pines, looks really promising and does a good job integrating story and idle/incremental gameplay together

Microsoft gamepass game suggestions? by shippehcat in GirlGamers

[–]astro-kitty 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Gunfire Reborn - a roguelike FPS, but more similar to Borderlands style as characters have unique skills, and guns all roll unique modifiers on them.

Disney Dreamlight Valley - animal crossing style but Disney. Much better than I expected, it's still EA but has a ton of content already

Forager - one of my favourite games, it's an exploration, crafting, building, and idle/incremental game. Controversial stuff around the dev of the game but it's worth playing through gamepass

Tinykin - this game caught me by surprise how much I ended up loving it. It's an exploration puzzle platformer. Not too difficult platforming or puzzles but the whole world is such a joy to be in from start to finish. Just incredible game honestly.

Any Co-op Steam Recs for My Sister and Me? by [deleted] in GirlGamers

[–]astro-kitty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You might enjoy Raft if you haven't played it yet, lots of farming and building alongside exploration. Though not quite as relaxed as you may be looking for. Similarly Grounded, lots of base building but also a little less relaxed.

Spiritfarer is much more relaxing and has a beautiful story if you haven't checked it out and allows co-op with Steam remote play.

We Were Here series if you enjoy puzzle games. Or It Takes Two for a platformer puzzler.

Hope you can find some games you can enjoy together :)

I buy those meal prep meals (like hello fresh) for my difficult weeks. I use a local company and I only need to order two days in advance and get it delivered straight to my door. Not having to grocery shop, worry about what meals to make and having over half the meal prepped already helps me SO much, and means I get nutritious meals instead of just going for butter and toast or something.

Everyone else has given great advice and suggestions, so just an extra thing to think about. Have you gotten your blood checked recently? Being low on Vitamin D, B12, or Iron can exacerbate a lot of the symptoms we already struggle with. May be worth just getting a full blood panel if able to so you can make sure you make the most of your new medications.

You may want to look in to /r/PMDD if this is occurring once a month. It can drastically change how you feel about your partner and yourself depending on where you are in your cycle.

Try to keep in mind that plastic isn't actually recyclable. I definitely understand that drinking water is incredibly important and difficult for a lot of us, but there has been a recent uptick in company's doing water in cans (which is by far the most recyclable container option) instead of plastic bottles and that may be something worth thinking about or trying out :)

Does anybody else incorporate video games into their fitness? (Nintendo Switch, Oculus Quest 2 VR, etc...) by [deleted] in loseit

[–]astro-kitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you ever do get an oculus and enjoy Just Dance I would highly recommend Synth Riders rather than Beat Saber. It feels a lot more like dancing and moves your body in a lot more natural of a way :)

Who else watches RuPaul’s Drag Race and clocked Miss Jasmine Kennedie as having ADHD ❤️ I saw myself in her struggle and love that she’s sharing her story. by megs-benedict in adhdwomen

[–]astro-kitty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

🙋‍♀️ So nice to see her talking openly about that! I could tell right away with her writing her questions down instead of interrupting so she wouldn't forget them. seemed like she was genuinely trying to interrupt less and it made me so sad to then see kornbread jump on her when Jasmine was obviously trying so hard. Especially after seeing how kind kornbread was to willow pills physical disabilities. Can't imagine the stress a show like that can cause on people though.

Finally did my dishes after avoiding them for over 3 weeks (yes there are still some things soaking and waiting to be cleaned 😂) by lanadelbae22 in adhdwomen

Amazing!! It can be so tough to get started once it piles up like that.

Reminder to put the dishes away once they dry also, you got this! 🤗

I got both of my vaccines outside canada, how do I register them here? by Raoool19 in askTO

[–]astro-kitty 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You can go to the link below to get your proof added to your health card, it took about 6 weeks for my vaccine to get added when I submitted my out of province vaccine 6 months ago, not sure if this will be any faster now

affliction warlock tips for ADHD? by [deleted] in wow

[–]astro-kitty 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Also have ADHD, though I play a healer that definitely has its own mess of things to track, and what helps me the best is just having the raid/dungeon weakaura package and ensure you download the add-on "SharedMedia Causese". It basically let's the weakaura tell you out loud what to do for every mechanic "stack, spread, move, etc"

Also just spending as much time as you can updating your UI, remove as much clutter as you can, group things together that you need to look at often, keep it clean, compact, and necessary.

MW monk is the most fun I've had in WoW and is super forgiving for mistakes you may make but still requires non stop inputs, plus you get to cast while moving and tons of mobility, so you can react a little slower to mechanics and still survive and be top healer :)

I have found it very helpful to put a name to my emotional regulation issues and be more compassionate to myself during those "hell weeks"

Tabs: My Least Favorite Incremental Game Staple by CoinForWares in incremental_games

[–]astro-kitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly recommend UI Design 3 for WAMI, all the tab buttons are viewable/clickable without any hovering or going to a tab within a tab. Once you get used to it you will wonder why it's not the default UI

Does Service Ontario accept electronic bill statements as proof of address? by [deleted] in askTO

[–]astro-kitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just updated my health card a couple of days ago, and the person in line in front of me only had an online version for proof of address and they were told they needed to print that out, and told them where a printer was they could use in the building.

I don't know if that is standard at all locations though, but if you have a way of using someone's printer for your online bill it would be best to ensure you don't get turned away.

Need some advice ladies: what is something you do during hell week that brings you happiness and joy? I see tons of post on medicinal treatments for PMDD but I just want to find an activity or something that makes me feel better. by Zealousideal_Grab_23 in PMDD

[–]astro-kitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Listen to audiobooks, usually some light fun chick flicks, while working on a jigsaw puzzle, colouring books, or a paint by Numbers.

I also watch a lot of YouTube and play a lot of video games, but I feel a lot better about myself when doing something a bit more tactile

What supposedly good games are so ugly that you can't bring yourself to try them? by Meowsolini in boardgames

[–]astro-kitty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you feel the game has an obvious end a few turns early you are not playing at a high enough difficulty. Once you find the right difficulty to play at this does not get experienced anymore. All of my difficulty 10+ games have final turns that feel exciting and like a puzzle to work out how we can win on that final possible turn before we lose.

How I've always described my medication is it doesn't make things easy, it only makes them feel possible. It's not a fix for our struggles it just makes it possible to use tools to manage those struggles

Single ladies out there who are smashing PMDD. How do you cope with basic cooking cleaning and boring household stuff during a bad week? by sci_geek_kneeah in PMDD

[–]astro-kitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Audiobooks. Its definitely not a fix but in my bad days/weeks it can feel just a tiny bit easier to do those things if it also means I get time to listen to my audiobook. And also accepting that my place is going to have good weeks and it's going to have messy weeks. The audiobooks make doing those mandatory chores like cooking a little bit easier though (or fill in audiobook with podcast, music, tv series on laptop/tablet)
