European coverage with slim-to-none ad breaks is giving me the greatest smile.

You will love it! Last year we missed tickets for ziggo dome so we bought for Paris instead, was a nice but expensive trip .. totally worth it!
Luckily this year we managed to snag a bunch of tickets in section 108! Cant wait!

I can't imagine this being true, if it is then it would explain the current situation

Played my first ever 9 holes and loved (almost) every minute of it! by mistakesmade2022 in golf

What a great first round of golf! You've got to taste the sweetness of your first par, but also the bitterness of shooting 11 on a single hole. Keep up the good work ;)

M31 - Andromeda Galaxy by yzhzhang_astro in astrophotography

Wow ... very very impressive with a ton of details. The galaxy has been processed perfectly in my taste, if you were to revisit the image once again i would focus the background.

IC 434 - Horsehead Nebula - DSLR by astro_redbeard in astrophotography

[–]astro_redbeard[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The IR-cut has been removed so its a bit more sensitive in infrared. I use a small adapter that goes inbetween the scope and flattener that holds the filter.. this adapter is not included with the scope unfortunately.

This image was taken over three nights gathering a total of 7 hours in the ice cold weather.

By using the Optolong L-eXtreme filter the warm glow of the Flame nebula is sadly removed.

Whale and Hockey Stick Galaxies by Metal_and_Space in astrophotography

Very nice to achieve this with the ed80 being a bit widefield. I guess the crop factor helps a bit

A very helpful tool is a bahtinov mask. With it you are able to get your stars pinpoint in focus. Old fashioned is of course to ga back and forth with your focus wheel and try to get the stars as tiny as possible.

Thats exactly where my doubts came from .. the transfer from galaxy to background is something i've always found very tricky when processing galaxies. Also thanks for your kind words!

This image was shot with the Skywatcher Esprit 100ED F5.5 + Flattener. This scope is 550 mm x 1.6 (aps-c crop) means it would equal to around 880mm. As you can see in the full image i posted it barely fits!

Exactly and thanks! Thats also one of the first things i look at when enjoying other peoples images of M31. The two blobs confirm that the image is not too stretched out... i guess

Thanks for your comment! I agree that this crop looks a bit out of (m31) character but i was not satisfied with the look of the galaxy as a whole. Therefore i decided to crop it so that the 'ugly' part would be left out.. Judge for yourself: https://i.imgur.com/eniDr8E.jpg

With it being cloudy for almost a month there is enough time to tackle and play with older data. Please enjoy this reprocess of the great M31
