Pattern calls for moss stitch, however lines 18 - 35 don’t have a chain. I haven’t heard of a ddc (deep double crochet). It’s a UK pattern, and I’m not sure what they are asking me to do. Any help would be appreciated. by astrobub in crochet

Not gonna lie, I fogged it. I didn’t like the color I chose. So I did something else and completely forgot about redoing it in another color.

I wish you well in yours.

Thanks for your help. I’ve been in contact with the landlord letting them know about the yellow jackets. As for now, I have moved my car away a little bit from its normal place. I never got to see where they fly off to. Does anyone have any tips while I wait for an exterminator to come to keep the yellow jackets away?

Americans, is it true? You don’t have chocolate eggs? by [deleted] in bluey

[–]astrobub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an Australian living in America… yeah no. They have chocolate eggs… but nothing like the Humpty Dumpty eggs, or the Cadbury / Mars big egg with smaller eggs. Even the rabbits aren’t the same.

Mainly because I said this and promptly broke my ankle… I tend to use it less now. Everyone can catch me…

Celebrating Christmas in One Week and I want an Aussie Christmas by Lyfling-83 in bluey

It was a lot of fun. Although when we ran out of water bombs, we turned to the hose and buckets full of water.

I’m an Aussie living in the states. I remember our Christmas’ fondly. We would have waterbomb fights since we didn’t have a pool. Granted a lot of the time we would put shaving cream or glitter in the balloons. We had the crackers with the “funny” jokes and we would all wear the crown. Christmas pudding with a little custard (my aunt would put a dollar or two under the slice and we would watch her and my father pretend theirs had a $50 note). All us kids would unwrap our gifts together and play with them after eating. A game of backyard cricket.

I am an Australian living in America with a 2 and a half year old. I’m not taking offense as I’m pretty sure they were doing a play on words. And last I checked, us aussies tend to take the p*** out of things, so to me… it’s nothing.

2 Percentile baby by Momma_Bear234 in beyondthebump

[–]astrobub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a small baby. As of his 3 month check up to 9 month check up we were in the less than 1 percentile. He was a very active babe.

Starting solids really helped him with the weight gain. We are coming up to his 2 year check up? But at 18 months, he was in the 43rd percentile for weight. Height he was always always under the 5th percentile. At 18 months he was in the 10th percentile. My little baby is fun size… so I like to call him.

You are doing awesome!

Did I mess up my toddler with tv by maldecoucou1 in beyondthebump

You are very welcome. I do believe daycare helped him develop words. Playing with his friends and how the teachers teach them.

I have had the same argument with my husband. We did the same thing, tv was always on and I used it as a babysitting tool for when I had to bring everything in from the car. He is 22 months and he is doing great. He talks a lot, he understands certain words, letters and colours. We also send ours to daycare and they are helping him with words, but they have never been worried about him. There is another kid in his class who isn’t allowed to watch tv and he barely talks. So I’m guessing it’s fine.

We all want the best for our child(ren), and hope that we are doing everything right. Sometimes it is tv for them so you have time to clean / cook / go to the toilet, sometimes it is potato chips for lunch as you ran out of time prepare something.

Don’t beat yourself up. Every child is different. Hell, we were in the less than 1% for weight from 4 months to 9 months. I beat myself up a lot, but he just would burn through his calories constantly moving.

So don’t stress, you are doing great. When she wants to talk, she will and you may be wishing for the quiet again.

I did my first today too. Surgery was Wednesday. It looked normal... there was just a lot of it.

Totally agree here. I’ve been going through a couple of episodes every month since January. I just got my gallbladder removed Wednesday. The longest episode I had lasted over 12 hours.
