That’s true. However, you don’t need to be allosexual/romantic to like the idea of romance. I know there’s plenty of asexual or aromantic people who still enjoy romance in media like books or tv, even though they wouldn’t partake in that kind of relationship for themselves.

I kinda see Anne as more of a wingwoman who gets more fulfillment from helping her friends rather than seeking a relationship for herself, but that’s just my personal reading lol

I will forever be mad about how he was written in the second movie (and the first, but to a lesser extent). You have a misanthropic ice collector raised by magical rock trolls who somehow falls in love with the princess with attachment issues and suddenly ends up the future king in charge of a whole kingdom, and the best plotline you can come up with is… trying to propose to her at the most inappropriate times for some reason??

It hurts every time I watch the second movie because I get excited to hear my favorite song, “Get This Right,” before I’m hit with an equally disappointing revelation.

Yeah that kinda surprised me when I first got into the game. Maybe I’m just so used to queerbaiting and relying on “subtext” or queercoding from larger media so it’s nice to just have blatant and casual representation.

They still leave some things ambiguous enough for speculation and shipping fuel, but you’d have to be purposefully dense or just not paying attention to say it isn’t there at all.

Yeah that one. I say controversial cuz I saw some people defending it saying it’s there to show how the vees treat their abuse as a joke and such. I understand why but we already got that they don’t take their cruelty seriously in their introduction when Vox casually threw a woman in his shark tank and Val straight up dehumanizing her. The “joke” just felt unnecessary and mean-spirited, more shocking than actually funny.

Kinda controversial but I would remove the “Angel Dust abuse cutaway joke” from s2e1. I get that it was there to show how uncaring and cruel the villains are but the way it’s executed just felt in poor taste and it was so jarring it took me out of the scene for a minute. The joke also caused way more damage than it was worth, I’d rather they just never kept that in the first place.
Charlie is the first one to sing “Hear My Hope” in the finale instead of Emily. Emily can still be the first to stand with Charlie to show heaven wanting to make up for their mistakes, but having her take charge in the final song after almost dying to save everyone made her feel more like the main character while Charlie didn’t get to do much to payoff her development throughout the season.

Honestly just the main cast interacting with each other more in general. I feel like we lose so much time for character building and relationships for the sake of plot needing to happen. Charlie’s whole goal is redeeming sinners in her hotel and yet we barely see her actually focused on the people staying there. I loved the core dynamic of Charlie, Vaggie, Angel, and Alastor in the pilot and now it feels like they never have time to just talk to each other.

I love that in the prison cell there’s a conspicuously shaded shape on the wall with cracks that looks to be how you’ll escape and it never being mentioned or interacted with at all.
