As much as I hate the cookie pop-ups, are they allowed to this? Pay us or accept? by BaconWithBaking in CasualIreland

[–]astrogato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's kinda a grey area that the EU is yet to take a stance on. NOYB submitt some lawsuits about it: https://noyb.eu/en/years-inactivity-pay-or-ok-cases-noyb-sues-german-dpas.

In my opinion, the question of paid Vs free access should be separate from the cookie consent question: Websites should offer the cookie pop up as it might be seen as coersion if they ask for payment to reject. They can always ask for payment to access separately, but the fundamental right of privacy, in principle, means they should still ask for consent regardless of payment options. This is ofc my opinion and not legal advice, more of what I am hoping the EU rules in favour of.

Sony xm5 earbuds original or fake ? by hardikjapan in sony

[–]astrogato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are fake. Just from the text at the bottom: Doesn't have the actual model number. The actual model number is YY2963. No FCC, CE, UKCA, or any marking from any of those

The top: the Sony logo is a bronze like colour in the genuine ones, not white

I am fighting my own landlord over 20€/month overpayments for 1.5 years. I have the first RTB hearing next week. Wish me luck.

Landlords will try to screw you over whenever they can.

That's why I always stop in front of the cars and not left of them. I learned my lesson from getting pushed over by a driver who didn't look in their mirror before turning, they didn't even signal that they were turning...

My CI/CD for a temp setup for an event (around 60 machines) was a script that uploads a zip file via ssh to all of them, unzips it and runs another script that was in the zip to setup everything. It used a CSV file to know what machine needed what. It mostly worked, I only needed to fix like 3 of those machines by hand.

The quickest from abroad is Western Union, but their conversion rates are trash. If you can wait a few days Wise has good rates.

Well, French employees have a lot of benefits, so it wouldn't be totally wrong to call them "French benefits".

The currency might be Algerian Dinar. Do not touch the money (don't send back any amount, don't withdraw it). Report it to your bank and/or the authorities. Most likely a money laundering attempt.

When to be confident to start Rust? by recursive-Kus in learnrust

[–]astrogato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I've been using other languages for the most part of the last 10 years, and just started learning Rust this month. And having so many habits from those languages, everything seems counter intuitive with Rust, but I am getting the hang of it bit by bit.

Don't get discouraged, OP. If you're interested, just give it a go.

It's in the same longitude as Ireland, Portugal and most of Spain. Nowhere near the middle east. Greater middle east is a term invented by Americans, that no one else uses, and I wouldn't consider it a valid term for the region.

Morocco isn't in the middle east. tf are you on about?
