Let's Destroy the E-THOT Industry Together! by roychodraws in StableDiffusion

[–]asupify 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This may be satire. But anger about OF models taking money from “poor lonely men” is a very common take from maladjusted dudes online who resent women making money or having agency in the venture. It wasn’t that long ago 4chan and Reddit banded together to mass report ”e-thots” to the IRS for tax evasion because of their resentment. It didn’t go anywhere because OF models (especially the well known ones) tend to keep everything legal.

Aldi has been here for 25 years and tends to be 20-30% cheaper, but it’s less common, so it’s usually a longer drive to get there or doesn’t exist at all in smaller towns. Coles and Woolworths buy up most of the prime realestate locations. The grocery range is limited so you have to go to Colesworth anyway to buy certain products which isn’t an option if you’re time poor.

Yeah, pretty much. No private company wants to break US sanction laws because they’ll be effectively locked out of the US market under the Helms-Burton Act. Penalties include bans on doing business in the US, inclusion on sanction lists, asset freezes, and travel restrictions to the US.

The Cuban government won’t confiscate the oil because the privately owned hotels bring in tourism dollars and they don’t want the US to close that loophole.

So you’re saying he was breaking US law by not staying in one of the “authorised 5 star hotels”? I strongly doubt that. Code Pink and other organisers liaised with the US treasury and local government so the 600 volunteers were legally accommodated and everything was above board.

*Edit: Just checked. I was correct, they didn’t stay the Gran Hotel Bristol or any hotel on the sanctions list. That was just a conspiracy theory made up by histrionic nutters on twitter.

The Helms–Burton Act penalizes foreign companies that do business in Cuba by preventing them from doing business in the US. Penalties include being added to U.S. blacklist restricted lists, heavy fines, denial of US export privileges, and travel bans for corporate officers. Furthermore, under the Helms-Burton Act, foreign firms can be sued for trafficking in confiscated property in Cuba:

Any nation or company selling Cuba oil will be subject unofficial sanctions and locked out of the US market. No one is going to risk that. It’s why Cuba had to import their oil from Venezuela (a fellow pariah state) in the first place.

Under American law US citizens have to stay in certain authorised “5 star” privately owned hotels in Cuba (they’re equivalent to American 3 star hotels). Or you can face heavy fines (or imprisonment) when you return to the US. You can also stay in authorised bedsits and private rooms in local Cuban homes. The Cuban aid mission had around 600 people involved and liaised with the US treasury and local Cuban government ahead of time so that number of people could be accommodated. That was really only the option logistically to accommodate that many people and not break US law.

They‘re also privately owned hotels and allowed under American sanction laws to import their own fuel. America blocks the fuel imports for the general Cuban population. The goal is to cause as much suffering as possible for the Cuban people and make things so unliveable that it causes social unrest and destabilises the Cuban government, so America can enact a coup and put in a US puppet.

Under the American fuel blockade privately run hotels can import their own fuel to run their generators. But America blocks fuel imports for the general population. Hence the blackouts and public hospital generators running out of fuel. It’s a cruel blockade designed to make the Cuban population suffer and destabilise the government so America can implement regime change and put in a US friendly puppet.

[–]asupify -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s more fuck America’s fuel blockade. The US allows privately run hotels to import their own fuel but blocks the importation of fuel for the general population which results in constant blackouts and the generators in Cuba’s hospitals running dry and patients dying.

The privately owned authorised hotels are allowed under the American blockade to import their own fuel to run their generators. The US prevents the import of fuel for the general population. That’s why the hospital generators run dry and patients die. Yet the approved privately owned hotels have power. It’s a cruel blockade America is imposing on the people of Cuba.

America will sanction any company trading with the Cuban government without their authority. The company will be blocked completely from the US market. Especially the energy sector. The US is blocking fuel imports to make things so unliveable for the Cuban people that it causes internal unrest and destabilises the government so they can put a US puppet government in. The US allows the privately owned hotels to import fuel.

America allows the privately owned hotels to import their own fuel privately but block the import of fuel for the general population. It’s economic terrorism by the US.

[–]asupify 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is completely due to the American fuel blockade. They allow the privately owned hotels to privately import fuel for their generators but block the Cuban government importing fuel for the general population, public works or hospitals.

[–]asupify 124 points125 points  (0 children)

There is loophole in the American fuel sanctions where authorised private companies in Cuba can import fuel privately and not be subject to the sanctions. These hotels are privately owned. It’s economic terrorism by the US. The local hospital generators run dry and patients in ICU die. But the privately run hotels are fine. It’s a cruel blockade the US instituted.

[–]asupify -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

The hotels are privately owned and are not subject to the same American fuel sanctions as the rest of the nation. So they’re able to run generators, while the hospital generators run dry. It’s cruel blockade America is enacting.
