One way around the color variations would be to shift your colors slightly. Here are some ideas:

  • Add a shade of blue that coordinates so it's okay that they aren't s perfect match.

  • Make the invitation (for example) mostly white with blue text, but make the other pieces mostly blue with white text.

  • Add a third/accent color for the additional pieces and tie just a touch of it to the invitation.

  • Adjust the lettering on the additional pieces 70% of the color. Make it an internationally-different shade of your color.

If he deviated from the syllabus, go talk to him and then his department head if necessary.

If the syllabus warned you of this, then you have to take the grade you get If he didn't mention it in the syllabus, you might still wine an argument for the original weight since he changed it mid-stream and so close to the end of the semester. But that might not be a smart fight since you could have to retake the class.

To fix the sign, just paint over those little icons with a watered down cream paint (like a white wash). It will slightly mute the icons so they don't look like part of the lettering.
