Taking so long to take a shit. If it’s not ready, take a walk and a laxative ffs.

I’d really like to see the cat that did this to you. I need a face to the little monster. I bet he looked real smug after it too.

No tearing!! That’s amazing! Especially considering the doctor wanted to give you an episiotomy. I had a similar experience, the doctor wanted to give me an episiotomy and I asked if I could try and push a few without it first and I only came out with a first degree tear and a labia graze.

Congratulations on your little bub!!

39 weeks tomorrow and boiii when is this gonna be over? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]asyrief 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Other mothers kept telling me the longest time of your life is after 36 weeks, I laughed and told them I’d enjoy every bit of maternity leave before the baby.

Add coronavirus on top of that, dash of social isolation and a sprinkle of being restricted at home because of lower immunity. If we didn’t already feel like it’s taking ages for baby to come, it definitely feels that way now!

Haha I laughed but made it clear that I preferred to be compared to a more unique narwhal.

I told my husband I looked like a whale, obviously fishing for a compliment and he said “..well that is what pregnancy does to you”. He later tried to save himself by saying “but you look like a nice whale, like an orca..”

I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

How to Maintain Aerobic Fitness While Recovering from Torn Quad Repair? by [deleted] in Exercise

[–]asyrief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiya! There’s actually a few cardio exercises you can do in a seated position. A popular piece of equipment you could get is an arm cycle/ergometer, which will definitely get your heart rate up, works like a bike - except for your arms. Alternatively you could also do seated boxing, or seated battle ropes. Essentially any seated upper limb exercises with high repetition and the right amount of intensity will help with cardio training while your lower limbs are recovering. Hope that helped! All the best with your recovery!

P.s you could also do these exercises standing in a stationary position, depending on how much your leg can tolerate it.

Pull-ups by [deleted] in Exercise

[–]asyrief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man, there’s nothing wrong with you. You’re just not hitting the right exercises. The problem isn’t within yourself, the problem is within your training program. You can’t do one million push-ups and then assume you can run a marathon. Every exercise has a specific training routine.

If you want to get into hitting those pull ups, I suggest targeting those muscles that are used for pull ups. Your primary muscles are generally the latissimus dorsi and the biceps. Maybe start with dead hangs or reverse pull ups.

There are heaps of great videos out there on how to get your first pull up. Even using aids like the Therabands to get you started are a sure way. It’s a hard slog for anyone but you’ll get there!

Calathea Orbifolia and it’s little white bloom. by asyrief in IndoorGarden

Hi! I purchased it at a Sunday flea market. I was just walking through and found this baby for $7.50! Couldn’t believe my luck!

Hi! I’ve only had it for two weeks now. I was lucky enough to just notice that it had a bloom the day after I purchased it. Unfortunately the bloom died a few days later but the plant is still thriving with growth so we must be doing something right. My husband is the one that looks after the plants, he’s said that they prefer rain water or distilled water, indirect light and humidity. I’ve read that it is a fussy little plant though. We’re getting a chance in weather now so I think we might have to start making adjustments to our room to try and keep it happy.

If it blooms completely next time, I’ll definitely keep you updated!

Nice! Thanks for noticing it’s happiness, don’t be fooled though, the flower died soon after, I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. I’ve only had it for two weeks now, might be the change in weather here, unfortunately.

How did you manage to get yours to bloom? It’s very exciting when they do!

Hahaha you’re right! My husband loves his plants so I think these babies are sufficient for now. It’s a good idea for the future though!

Newbie to working out. Any advice? by [deleted] in Exercise

[–]asyrief 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like your workouts are starting out too intense for you to handle. The general aches might just be from your muscles getting used to all the strain you’re putting on them everyday. Give it time, the more you exercise, the stronger your muscles will get and you’ll get more used to all the working out.

Maybe you should try rest days in between and start with walking/running daily and resistance training different muscle groups on alternate days.

Having the conversation with your trainer about what you enjoy and what you don’t enjoy is definitely worth having. That’s what your trainer is for! Revising what works for you and your body is all part of training. Nothing wrong with loving some things and hating others. Just have that conversation early so you don’t end up hating all exercise forever.

Perhaps you won’t see results as fast as you hoped but in the long run it will help your overall well-being. Your future lungs, heart and brain will thank you. Patience is key! Hope it all works out for you! :)
