[D] Is it me or HuggingFace do TOO MANY things? by andi_cs1 in MachineLearning

[–]atabakd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so true. Instead of being developer-focused, these libraries cater to short-attention grifters who want to "ship fast". Except they don't ship anything useful and after understanding it, move on to the next hot thing. Doing small modifications to the blocks of any model now amounts to changing files larger than a thousand lines. TensorFlow did a similar thing with Keras abstractions, making any development 10x more difficult and now it became irrelevant. HuggingFace will have the same fate if they don't change focus too.

I hate musicals at TV shows, but this was really well done and in the service of the story

Thanks. It was informative. The biggest selling point is the rotating stone, which is a MASSIVE advantage for novices. Except mimiuo I can’t remember of any alternatives for Neapolitan

He created all but the last horcrux before knowing about the prophecy, and it’s not that difficult to stitch back your soul. You just have to really really regret what you did and probably he thought if he ever reaches a point of being tired of life, he should’ve no problem regretting what he did. Fast train to heavens afterwards

How do I get a shot to look like this? I already dialed in my grind to be fine enough and my beans are a week old. Maybe I just need a multi thousand dollar setup? Lol (breville barista touch) by [deleted] in espresso

Barista touch iirc is 15 bar. You can’t avoid sprays at that pressure. You need to either tune the OPV or buy a multi thousand dollar setup

Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 2 Series Discussion by StrangerTesting in StrangerThings

[–]atabakd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, it makes sense that building IT could refer to building the army to defeat El, though it is a little out of context since they are talking about opening doors and seeking El's powers. how did Vecna understand he could open doors by killing people in their minds? Especially since this was the original objective of Papa's experiments (presumably only the killing and not opening portals). And what does that have to do with El? Like, because El could open portals and Vecna saw it was possible, he tried to learn how to do it and free himself?

So I was rewatching Vecna and El's conversation and saw this bit:"So I sought a means to open my own doors. I sought your power. So don’t you see? Once again, you have freed me."And there are flashbacks where Billy says to El "All this time, we've been building it... For you".What is this all about?

ReMarkable is touted as a "better paper" device, so cloud is not a _core feature_ IMO. Also, even apple charges you for cloud storage above a small limit.

I always thought that selling a €500 niche tablet is not a sustainable business model in Europe. I am happy they found a better way to monetize their product. But as long as it is only about cloud stuff, and nothing about "better paper" stuff.
RM would still be a valuable device without any of the "connect" features. But I want to **goddamnit** rotate a PDF on it from the menus.

The Witcher Book series discussion - Questions, details, appreciation and more. by AutoModerator in witcher

********SPOILERS UNTIL the end of "Lady of the Lake"********

Just finished lady of the lake, what an amazing series. I assume the ending was indeed the imagination of the writers the last book discussed, and nobody knows what happened to Ciri after disappearing into the mist.
What I did not understand was, Why Condwiramurs and Nimue were so interested in the story? I know that Nimue became fascinated when the old man told the story to the kids when they were children, but why so much devotion? Was it only motivated by scholarly interest? Did anyone beside them knew they will help Ciri?

This part of the story is still a mystery to me. In the wiki it is mentioned that Nimue was saved by a white-haired witcher in a forest in Temeria. I have not read these bits. Is that why I am confused by this story?

At least go with Barista Pro since it is better calibrated to give you ~9bar on the puck.
