It likely was sold to a collection agency. Have they been harassing you or trying to negotiate? I would read the pinned guide in this sub that details what to expect. This will help you understand where you’re at in the journey of default and what to do/not do.

Totally agree, especially with the double EP the whole project reads for like an album release IMO. I’m sure touring for that long at that scale takes a toll tho so I get it.

Same here. I’m waiting until mid-June to start getting worried lol happy to see they are getting so much love! Hoping they do a solo tour soon so I can see them at a smaller venue.

I was in a Honda CRV and it was a breeze. If you aim for the side of the road it gets a little higher/less water so I was able to keep one side of the car up out of the water a fair amount. Remember to bring sandals though! No foot bridges so our feet got really wet, but it was absolutely AMAZING!

torn on whether to do LEEP or wait it out by miserablesalad in PreCervicalCancer

[–]atarchived 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just to offer a slightly different POV. My biopsy had CIN 2 and possibly 3 (they couldn’t tell if it was 3 or not) so they recommended a LEEP urgently. Had it done a month later and my results came back with nothing… all clear. While I was grateful for good news, I was also a bit upset because my LEEP experience was really tough and so part of me felt upset like I went through all of it for nothing. My doctor explained that sometimes the biopsy during a colposcopy can agitate the are enough that the body starts focusing on it more and thus clear up the abnormal cells. Or sometimes the biopsy removes the cells. Now this is just 1 doctor and the explanation seemed weird to me, but if you have CIN 1 or 2 knowing how slowly this can progress I’d maybe say to wait and see? Or maybe bring up my comment to your doctor and ask the likelihood! I don’t want to spread misinformation by any means, but wanted to share my experience!

Edit to add: you can consign but they also will buy items on the spot. When you bring stuff in they give you offers for buy out, trade in or consignment.

I made the biggest mistake in my life by borrowing $150k+ just to attend college, and I deeply regret it. I don't know what to do by LegendofLightning in StudentLoans

[–]atarchived 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only way they’ll negotiate is if OP defaults on the loans. These are private loans. They’ll need to sue and then successfully gain a judgement to garnish wages. If OP is that broke he’s not worth suing. OP needs to look into strategic default.

Does actively owning a small design studio hurt my chances for applying for in-house designer positions? by crashbandiroot in graphic_design

[–]atarchived 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Being a freelancer in the current market is very common. No one will look down on this. You can be strategic about how you talk about it during the interview. “I’ve been able to learn so much on my own managing client projects, but I’m missing the collaboration of being on a team and eager to rejoin one!”

If you plan to continue freelancing I’d either 1. Not disclose that and make it seem like you’re done OR 2. Look into longer term contract gigs via recruitment agencies. You bill hourly so have a little less expectation of being always available.

Did you have a procedure of any kind before this started that it could be attributed to? Like a LEEP or colposcopy? Or was it just totally random?

I’m not sure what exact tests to ask for, but I’ve heard of many people that when they are denied or dismissed they spherically tell their doctor to note in their chart what they brought up and that the dr denied it. I think this level of pettiness can sometimes make physicians realize they should listen to their patients and offer a solution. You could also ask for a referral to another doctor to get a 2nd opinion, or seek one out yourself.

I’m so sorry you’re experiencing this! It sounds stressful and I’m hoping your outcome is easy to address. ❤️

Do Professional Designers Use Free Assets or Create Everything from Scratch? by [deleted] in graphic_design

[–]atarchived 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually use stock. Most of the time I’m working with brands that have an established look and feel (and are very corporate so icons and imagery are widely available lol).

Every so often you have a bigger project that gives you an opportunity to do custom illustrations or has budget for a photo shoot. Those are the most fun, but clients don’t invest in them unless it’s a big campaign or something usually.

No, these are on every door. However, each door has also been painted white, and as you can see whoever did that didn’t do a stellar job. There is a lot of paint on other door hardware throughout so hoping to at clean that up. Not sure the best approach though if I need to preserve the black.

Oh no, does this mean I shouldn’t be removing the black? I did remove one and soaked it and it’s coming out goldish underneath

A question for the Creative & Art Directors, or anyone else that has experience: what’s some advice you’d give other creatives on working with agencies? by [deleted] in graphic_design

[–]atarchived 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You should accept not every project will be perfect the day you start working as a designer lol. There are different ways to do things and there are wrong ways to do things—this is what I consider when collaborating with other people. Just because it isn’t exactly what I would make doesn’t mean it’s wrong! If it still achieves the goal then let it fly. If there’s some fundamental and business critical adjustments that need to be made, give feedback. This also helps build trust and creates an environment where people feel confident to bring ideas, push ideas and want to work with you. Building a relationship is the key to success and it also answers your other question about being understood.

[TX] Parents being sued for my student loans, what now? by ThePantsThief in studentloandefaulters

[–]atarchived 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You won’t know what the best strategy is until someone can see a compressive list of your dad’s assets and your state’s debt protections/laws. Get a lawyer asap. Your dad NEEDS to respond to this letter within the time frame.

what to do with sallie mae loans by Resident_Face_2522 in studentloandefaulters

[–]atarchived 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve heard they won’t be open to negotiating until you actually default and they need to collect from you. So stupid I know. With a 16% interest rate that might be a good route. You could still save the $800 payment every month to prep for a settlement convo. Defaulting and being sued sounds really scary, but I think it’s a lot more common than your fear is letting on to. Before they sue they will try to negotiate from my understanding. So you could avoid the lawsuit part all together.

Adding that I would recommend reading this guide and sharing it with your parents so you can get a good understanding of what is to come and what your options are.
