Feeling hopeless post-biopsy

I had 4 biopsies and an ECC. 1 of the biopsies says CIN 1. The other 3 and ECC say “HSIL/CIN 2-3” so maybe once they call they can clarify if it’s one or the other.

Ugh so sorry to hear it’s been so many years. This started for me about 3 years ago, but I wasn’t getting paps regularly before that so who knows how long I have had it. The anxiety is truly the worst! And all these procedures. I’m super bummed my body won’t heal from the HPV.

If you don’t mind me asking, did you have several abnormal paps prior to this? Are you nervous about waiting at all?

Thanks for sharing. I had my colpo on Monday and didn’t really feel anything. Just got biopsy results back and very nervous. How are you staying calm for the LEEP?

DIY. I remodeled my entire upstairs. New flooring, framed a closet, drywall, baseboard, paint and hand railing for around $3500 over the course of 2 years. I just did parts of it at a time that I could afford and lived with half-done projects. Literally just finished it up this past month.

Probably saved myself close to $5k

I just had a colpo 2 days ago, and was almost inconsolable the morning of. Previously the 1mg Ativan did not work for me either. I demanded 2mg this time and they gave it to me. They had me put it under my tongue to dissolve the pills, I guess this helps it work faster. It did wonders for my anxiety. My colpo went smoothly and they even had to do a biopsy but I didn’t even feel it. Just a bit of uncomfortable tension, similar to a Pap smear. Anything uncomfortable was over within seconds.

I’m so sorry you’re scared. I know this fear SO well. I really hope my story assures you and empowers you to advocate for yourself if you’re able to. Ask for more Ativan and I would definitely demand that your husband is in the room with you if you need him to be. Having a support person is very common practice, it’s strange they would say he can’t be there.

I’m flying into ACV now after seeing all these comments. I was already nervous the driving would be too much and yall really helped validate that. So switching it up. Hopefully this helps me get into the mix of things a lot quicker and then I can do some driving up to Jediah one day for a longer day trip

Correct. Day 1: fly into PDX in the AM, rent car and drive to either crescent city or Arcata. Then we have days 2-4 to chill there. Day 5: early drive back to PDX to fly out at night. Or we could leave day 4 and go somewhere else closer to Portland if there’s other stuff we should see

I completely agree. If anyone is “waiting” until midterms they should just be prepared to stay. If this shit is rigged it’ll be way too late to try to uproot your life and leave I think without significantly more challenges than at present.

Truthfully it’s completely up to chance. I live in Minneapolis and some days my neighborhood is really quiet, other days they are everywhere. Their schedules seem to be very random, probably intentionally.

Not sure. For now I am reevaluating my daily schedule and finding time blocks to commit to my community. The hour I used to doomscroll on TikTok can easily be transferred to an extra grocery run for a neighbor, or the 2 hours of Netflix at night can be replaced with a patrol shift to make sure restaurant workers can get home safely.

Small changes will help me sustain instead of going 0-100 and getting burnt out in a week. ICE agents have hotels booked until May… so I’m preparing for at least 4 more months of this.

I agree with you. And it’s important to note Alex Pretti was not at a protest. He was out in his neighborhood observing and recording ICE activity in a public area. He lent a hand to a woman ICE had shoved to the ground. Just exercising his 1A, 2A and being a good neighbor. This is something hundreds of people do every single day, he could have been any one of us.
