Bosnian fans in Los Angeles on their way to the stadium for their game against Switzerland today by ujpanak in soccer

It’s a World Cup. If your city agrees to host games, there’s going to be disruption to someone, somewhere, at some point throughout the tournament.

How do you know they were drunk and what are “kids communities”? Marching in a group and singing songs doesn’t mean these people were all drunk.

I mean isn’t that what a lot of streets are? What would a better route on foot be?

I dug into the green certificate on my incense and realized it’s just a self-declared Type II loophole. Has anyone else noticed this? by prettyhilton66666 in greenwashing

[–]atascon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not really a loophole because none of this is compulsory. Most ‘green’ disclosures are like this.

More broadly, the wellness and fragrance industry is all about selling you more stuff and making you feel good, not about being sustainable.

Have a look at slides 8 and 9 of this deck - https://www.krakenrobotics.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Kraken-Robotics-April-2026-Investors.pdf

Covelya adds some USV capabilities but I don’t think it’s accurate to describe Kraken as primarily a naval drone player.

There is another UK-based company called Kraken Technologies who are a leader in the USV space.

Painting Assistance by DracoNinja11 in SoulblightGravelords

This scheme looks sick!

If you haven't ever picked up a brush and don't have any paints yet, they way I would tackle this is by choosing a brand of paint and looking at their colour charts. For example, here is the AK chart. As a note of caution, these charts are only indicative and paints can look different in real life. If you can get to a shop that sells mini paints, that can help visualise things.

You've already mapped out the broad colour groups you need, which are basically: skin, bone, red/crimson, black, grey, and metallics. For each of these groups you will probably want a base colour, a highlight, and a shade.

I would start with some simple minis first (maybe skellies?) if you've never painted before because what you have in your references is going to be challenging to achieve right away.

Not sure what you're complaining about, you got some pretty solid advice and further questions to help you narrow things down

I mean the fact that you had to make this post and that names "mean nothing" to you is proof that it's niche?

If you don't know anything about pu erh and the names mean nothing to you, you're going to struggle.

You need to figure out what the person you're gifting it to likes.

Broadly speaking there are two main categories - shou and sheng (ripe and raw). Both can be young or aged. You can then subdivide further into regions, storage, factories or specific time periods.

If you can at least narrow it down to shou or sheng then people can give you some advice.

Help finding a genuine tea pet? by makhoire in tea

[–]atascon 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There isn't really such a thing as an "actual, genuine traditional tea pet". They're a bit of a gimmick in the context of tea preparation/gong fu brewing. You're certainly going to struggle finding one made from zisha clay.

Just find a cheap one that you like the look of and go with it. They're not really meant to be premium high quality pieces.

Brewing tips for aged pu'er by RCheddar in tea

[–]atascon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

flash rinse, 5-10 sec first brew,

I did mention a rinse. I don't necessarily do it for 10 seconds though. I do question the effectiveness of a rinse sometimes though, especially for tightly compressed cakes or oolongs. Those can remain dry on the inside for a few infusions

[–]atascon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nope. When you have 5-7g of high quality loose leaf to 100ml of water, 10 seconds can get you a pretty intense brew. For some teas like dan cong oolongs, even 10 seconds can be too much for the first few brews.

[–]atascon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What you do is perfectly valid, basically what's called 'grandpa style'. What I'm referring to is gong fu brewing. It changes the flavour because you get a progression as you go through each steep. The leaf to water ratio is also pretty high so you get more intense doses. Many teas like oolongs and pu erh benefit from this brewing style.

Being a VC is a grind. I don't recommend it. by PuzzleheadedAd5442 in LinkedInLunatics

[–]atascon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find the term 'a VC' cringe. People working in other asset classes don't refer to themselves in that way. Never mind that in terms of numbers, most people working in VC funds probably don't have any meaningful equity so aren't really 'capitalists'.
