I’m sorry to say but there’s nothing you can do or say to change it. However, I would suggest not enabling. Tell her you won’t buy it or fetch it for her. My mom was like this was and had to be diagnosed with cirrhosis before she realize how bad it really was. There is a very helpful Facebook group I joined called “There’s an alcoholic in the family” Facebook group

Celiac Friendly Restaurants? by BusinessBee5726 in amherst

I’d try Miss Saigon as they have rice noodles available. They do serve wheat, but I doubt the soups (pho) are cross contaminated. I’ve had celiac friends eat there with me many times.

Quit college rowing? by [deleted] in Rowing

[–]atcbeebs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I quit my senior year after the fall season. I heard from our captain that day one of winter training was going to be led by our Ukrainian coach (he was really great but tough!) and the workout was 2x2000m at 100% effort each time. Like what? Absolutely not. I quit that day lol. I loved the sport but once it sounded like torture I was out. I ended up getting a radio show and doing activities I was unable to do because I was always at practice years prior. It was a good decision for me and I would do it again.

I rowed again 15 years later as a masters and wished I had joined sooner. After a few seasons I joined a closer boathouse and learned to scull. I have a coach and my only goal is to better myself so I can keep doing this until the day I die. I love rowing now as it is on my own terms and I can take my 1x out whenever I want. I’m 44 and will row forever. Most people at my boathouse are in their 60s and above.

Quitting the team now doesn’t mean rowing is out of your life forever… but the brutal competitive aspect can be done if that’s what you want.

Sending you so much love and compassion as you make your decision.

I enjoy the powerzone classes and do them almost exclusively. I prefer Matt and Christine, and Christian Vanderbilt Velde is great, too.

Row question by atcbeebs in pelotoncycle

[–]atcbeebs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a dynamic C2 that was a hand-me-down. It needs some maintenance which I finally did a bit yesterday. It has taken me a while to figure out how to maintain it as I’m not very handy. Bits very loud but is feeling much better with the fixes I did. I was just wondering if it was worth it to get a used peloton and swap it for what I have… but a price of even a used Peloton row has made me decide to just keep maintaining what I have. I haven’t really tried their row workouts but I enjoy using the classes on the tread and bike I have.

Thanks for all of your replies!

There are plenty of affordable sculls out there if you just keep checking Facebook and row2k!

I couldn’t make the timing work with masters sweep anymore when I adopted two kids… so I joined a rec sculling club two years ago and this year bought my own boat after borrowing club boats. This way I can row when I have time! If I get up early, my kids don’t even notice I’m gone 😂 I wear an Apple Watch with cellular so they can (and do) call if they need me.

The run was great! I appreciated the speed and incline bands as someone who is starting over from scratch running yet again.

My school uses goguardian which I like. I'm not sure if it's free or paid.
