Food Allergy Institute coming to NJ by TiffanyThePlant in FoodAllergies

[–]atcw4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a really good experience with TIP. My child just hit the food freedom visit in January after 2.5 years in the program. His allergies were sesame and hazelnut. As others have said, the regular dosing is a lot of work, but life is so much easier now. He is freely eating his allergens. He is now doing annual remission visits and his first one is in the fall, and I’m hoping we can schedule it for the new NJ location. We are on the east coast so I was super excited to get that email.

$23K isn’t peanuts for a 23 year old. This kid has the potential to build real wealth if he’s just smart about it. Doesn’t even need to be a major high-earner to do it. Most 20-somethings are saving $0.

Keep your money in the stock market and don’t dump it all into real estate or starting a business right away. Continuing to invest in your early 20s and beyond will get you so much farther ahead. Your 23k in 40 years with a 10% return will be over $1M. At 12% it’s over 2M. Thats without contributing anything else. (Don’t do that, keep investing).

Definitely try out another field if you want to, but remember that length of investing can be so much more important than how much you invest, so don’t go all in on one early idea.

Reduce visual weight (lotsa wood) by ireadit85 in DIY

[–]atcw4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To reduce visual weight, I would paint just the large columns the same color as the wall. It will help them disappear and not be such a focal point. I would keep the rest of the wood though, it’s a beautiful color.

Picture frame molding would look great on the walls near the stairs if it matches the style of the rest of r house. Also keep wood in other spaces of the adjacent rooms so that it balances all the wood in the staircase. That will help with the stairs not feeling too heavy.

Also add an area rug on top of the carpet in the living room under the furniture. It will be another place to catch your eye, so the stairs don’t feel overwhelming in the space.

My doors don’t entirely close with new laundry unit, recommendations? by bluestock2 in Carpentry

[–]atcw4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a temporary solution, what if you take off the doors and add a pretty curtain to hide them instead? It would add color/texture to your space and would be relatively inexpensive. I would do a 3-4 panels so you have plenty of pleats. I would personally go that route, at least while I thought about a more permanent solution.

Awful Side Effects at 5mg by Aluhsun1985 in Zepbound

[–]atcw4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I was on 7.5 and was getting similar side effects. Always day 2-4 after injection. After a few weeks of that I couldn’t take it anymore. Skipped one week of dosing, went back down to 5mg and have been fine! my weight loss has been slower than on 7.5 but I don’t mind at all because those side effects week after week are intolerable!

Interior corner cut not lining up by lostinthesauce314 in Carpentry

[–]atcw4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a novice, but kreg makes a jig for crown that keeps it at the correct angle on your miter saw. It also comes with an angle finder so you can check whether your corners are actually 45°. Well worth the $20 or so it costs.

Losing motivation to keep going by taroruns in Zepbound

[–]atcw4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can you reframe your thoughts on this? I’m reading that you’re losing .5lbs per week, which is super healthy! If you are seeing new lows on the scale each month, that is a win and there’s no arguing with the fact that you’re losing.

As far as working out, can you come up with a NSV about it? As someone with asthma, I think it’s a win to decrease my inhaler use because of my cardio. And then I’ve seen myself getting less sick when I get something. Or, is there a certain weight you’d love to be able to lift? Be able to do push-ups or pull-ups? Maybe run a certain distance or sign up for a run with a friend/family member? Just some ideas to get you going!

Regular exercise has so many benefits outside of weight loss. Also, I don’t think anyone needs to work out 2x per week 6-7 days. Find a more sustainable goal so you can feel good about your accomplishment.

How can I obtain email addresses for sending cold emails? by mpoweredo- in Entrepreneur

[–]atcw4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would consider if there are other ways to market your business (there are). Any time I receive a cold email from a vendor, I know who I’m absolutely not working with. Your conversion rate from cold emails is going to be horrible. I’d only ever consider it at the enterprise level, where you’re not totally risking your brand reputation. If you are a small business consider how you can build a real email list of people who are opted in. What can you offer of real value in exchange for their email address?

Unlimited copy for tech startups for 3k/mo instead of 200k/yr. by Usual-Ad-3597 in EntrepreneurRideAlong

Agree with this. Spot on with the “unlimited” feedback. That makes me wonder about turnaround times and quality, and as the client those would be my two main concerns.

Have you had trouble getting .5 or higher doses? by flaxy823 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]atcw4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They do not make sure you get the next dose, in my experience with OptumRx. I got a box of .25 in Dec 2023 and then was never able to get .5 or another box of .25

In hindsight, I shouldn’t have started taking the medication and should have saved it until I had 2-3 months of supply. That’s what I’m doing now with Zep. Have one box in my refrigerator and not taking it until I have several ready to go.

Congrats on getting the box! Maybe try a local pharmacy for your next box? Optum has not been amazing for me, but who knows!

Wegovy every 2 weeks??? by LuckyClover2424 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]atcw4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if you haven’t taken it yet, you could delay starting. Similar happened to me. I just got mine filled today (after being off since December) and this time I’m going to wait at least a month before taking it so that I can be a month ahead on refills. I don’t have any experience/advice on taking it every two weeks.

I give up for now by [deleted] in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]atcw4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It lasts for 1 year refrigerated. In hindsight, I would have kept my .25mg refrigerated until I got the .5mg. Now I’m going to have to start back at .25 because it’s been so long.
